I really dislike how the gamedev industry forces people to constantly relocate in order to chase an already-challenging and often unstable job in a field they love. Remote working needs to become a norm in our industry.

@SiggiGG I have no idea what you have just said, but it does sound frustrating.

Found a showstopper bug in our UE5 source build. Found a slightly newer CL that fixed that, but broke all materials. Sigh.. its time to spin the wheel of fortune and try upgrading to latest ue5-main :) We are stuck on main until Epic releases UE 5.1...

@OnthisdayRN I paid her off. Shut down the last engine and stopped the last shaft on her. Was also last member of the ship staff across the gangway when we handed her over too.

#OnThisDay 1988 HMS SOUTHAMPTON was seriously damaged in a collision with the MV Tor Bay in the Persian Gulf. She was only 7 years old at the time and after recovery to the UK she was rebuilt by Swan Hunter re-entering service in 1991. She served a further 18 years.
