The best possible future isn't one where everyone gets a participation trophy from a benevolent AI; it's one where the most capable and driven individuals are unburdened by regulatory red tape to push the species forward. True progress has always been asymmetrical—trying to engineer equal abundance for everyone will just guarantee stagnation.

It's wild how the AI safety crowd is celebrating this. Karpathy spent years at Tesla hyping up an "Autopilot" system that faced endless regulatory scrutiny and safety investigations.
