@dvesean Still to this day my favorite Clapton song is Bell Bottom Blues heard only on WYDD. And I love so many of his songs.

Friday afternoon, May 1st 2026 North Las Vegas The Allman Bros version of "Stormy Monday" came on my iPod Touch. Originally a T-Bone Walker song. Live At Fillmore East may be The Greatest Live Album Ever. And only ONE member of the Allman Bros remains: Jaimoe (drummer), 81!

@Marcello1967IT King Crimson with all their incarcerations are my second favorite band next to the Beatles. Witnessed KC over a doz.times. I like this album growing up. Although, really didn’t love KC after they broke up after Red. Starless is my favorite song. Power to Believe my favorite CD.

King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King - 1969 Often regarded as the first true progressive rock album, it combined rock music influences with elements of jazz, classical, and symphonic music while describing the devastating effects of war and conflict.

@BASILEJOE44 @Marcello1967IT Maybe proto-metal, sure -but the first? Sabbath were already around that corner.. "21st Century Schizoid Man" is heavier than most in ’69, but it’s also way too weird to fit neatly into metal, i think..

@Marcello1967IT Calling it "the first prog album" almost misses the point.. "n the Court of the Crimson King" didn’t fit anywhere.. It sounded like something had broken.. Dark, unsettling… and still way ahead of most of what came after..

@JVMonte2 This album dethroned The Carpenters' "The Singles: 1969-1973," which had reigned at the top of the charts for 15 weeks, to reach number one in the UK. It's a magnificent work featuring a full orchestra.

Rick Wakeman released “Journey to the Centre of the Earth” on this day in 1974. It was recorded live in concert at the Royal Festival Hall in London on January 18, 1974. What are your thoughts on this album? #RickWakeman

@JVMonte2 At first grandiose. It took me several listens to appreciate more each time. Then finally bought the CD.

@JVMonte2 Both were not a small venue although both were third billing: Tom Petty/ Jake Geils Band top bill. Rush/ Kiss top bill. Dio/ Deep Purple top bill. Although, I saw the amazing Leslie West & Mountain at an Ice Arena. Alan Holdsworth at the Decade with under 20 people.
