art by bee for an og mfer
bee@bookofbee

some days ago, our good friend @VRmfer got drained out of 40+ mfers, 40+ nakamigos, several delta sauce views... vr has been a great friend and a true supporter and honestly one of the nicest people i have met in the space. in an attempt to help bring some support to our dear friend, I have worked on a special piece; a collaboration with the guidance of the grand mfer himself @sartoshi_rip, curated by @parachicaa and supported by the mfers community. This piece will be minted in it's own contract, and will be available as an OE on @base for 24 hours. Time: 4:20 PM EST Price: 0.0069 ETH 100% of funds will be transferred to @VRmfer you'll never walk alone #mfers link ⬇️

Crypto is the only industry where you can kick out.. A 15 year executive from Google and Activision that has an MBA and JD from Harvard And replace him with.. A short bald guy with glasses named Gargamel And everyone responds “BULLISH”

Some news to share: I am stepping back in as CEO of Yuga Labs. Wylie and I are grateful for all the contributions and operational rigor Daniel has brought to the company, and appreciate his thoughtfulness and mentorship over the past year. I’m reinvigorated to be taking the reins for our next chapter. Looking at what’s ahead for Yuga, we need to execute with a more cryptonative focus across the entire company. There’s a couple things that are top of mind for Wylie and I: -BAYC: Appreciate everyone coming out to the first “Bored Meeting” this past weekend. To sum up our thinking around BAYC in the briefest possible terms, the utility of BAYC comes from the network. From everybody who is in the club. That’s why ApeFest is so special, why Made by Apes has seen explosive adoption, why the clubhouse itself is so hype, and why BAYC is able to collab with some of the biggest brands in the world. We want to unshackle the BAYC team at Yuga as much as possible to execute against its vision. More focus, more agility. So it can do the above, and create the space for the magic and crazy shit we used to get up to more often. Focus and agility requires autonomy. Step 1 is already done. A new company, “BAYC LLC”, was created as a Yuga subsidiary and will be responsible for everything BAYC. We’ve got a crack team of ninjas on the BAYC team, but there’s still a couple important roles to be filled over there. -Otherside: Otherside should be the living room of web3. The default space you go to in order to play and hang with your community (no matter what community that is). Otherside is also a massive swing for the fences. We’ve got a lot of work to do. The only way it gets built properly is if you all come in and experience it more often. When we set out to build Otherside, the goal was to make it a public, iterative process. I’m confident in the work our team has done to get us back to this plan, and our communication is going to ramp up this week starting with “Apes Come Home.” And we need to follow it up with a lot more frequent communication starting now and throughout the year. -Gaming: We need to approach games at Yuga with a tighter focus on what works. For us, that’s a barbell approach: 1) crazy fun play patterns that any kid at heart can enjoy. The more wildly fun and mass market, the better: like Dookey Dash. This is all about opening the funnel and flooding our ecosystem with millions of new users, and leveraging that to create opportunities for creators, IP holders, and pro players. Stoked for how this is coming together with our friends at @farawaygg 2) Cryptonative mechanics and platforms, like [redacted]. We’re going on three years since Yuga was founded, and we couldn’t be more excited about some of the stuff we’ve got in the pipeline. Extremely grateful for the team that’s assembled here across all our brands. There’s a lot of work to be done, but I couldn’t imagine doing it with any other team, or any other community of builders. Thanks for your support. For those who will be there, I’ll see you at NFT Paris.

Please see the news below of the announcement I just made internally to our Yuga Labs employees. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to lead this great team and to have connected globally with so many community members. Yuga has such a bright future.

I think the recent sentiment towards @yugalabs and BAYC floor price can be broken down to apes feeling like they are treated as consumers and want to feel more like they are part of what’s going on and somewhat the center of attention, rightfully so. I believe that’s partly due to newer employees not having any idea how different this culture is. Not their fault. You can easily perceive the web3 culture, but to really understanding it takes a long time if you didn’t evolve with it. Maybe with a few degen employee additions, they can give some insight on how unpredictable this shit moves? 🤷‍♂️(True degens, not the same chosen ones we’ve seen little effort from…) Personally, the FP isn’t what I love about BAYC. It’s the feeling of being apart of something huge. A once in a lifetime opportunity to be in something that hardly ever happens to people like me. I have faith we can achieve that again. We just need to give people a reason to want to be an ape over any other. It starts with us. We know who the real apes are, so let’s support the fuck out of them. Seriously, it’s up to us now to make being an ape special. Ape support ape only does something if it actually happens. People will see that and want to be an ape to get that support too. It’s pretty easy. Make Being An Ape Special Again

Since apes don't read, here's the GPT summary explained for a 5 year old: Once upon a time, there was a man named Gordon who helped make a special club with digital pictures called Bored Ape Yacht Club. Gordon loves collecting these digital pictures and talking to friends on the internet about them. But Gordon got sick, so he had to take a break and rest. Now, Gordon is feeling a bit better and is talking to his friends again. He likes to collect more pictures and also helps make new ones. Sometimes he feels good and chats a lot, but other times he needs to rest and be quiet. Gordon thinks it's fun to collect these pictures and be part of a special club. He believes it's important to make things that are fun and exciting for everyone. Gordon also cares a lot about the artists who make these pictures and wants to make sure they are treated nicely. Gordon says even though he took a nap, he's still part of this fun world of digital picture collecting and making. He's excited to keep playing and creating in this world.

Gotten like 100 texts, calls, and DMs with questions. Literally every single question would have been answered if the Q&A was actually read. Apes really do not fucken read lmao. Fuck my new idea, I'm opening up a literacy school for NFT degens. You brought this on yourselves.
