Saw this last night as I was driving around Seal Beach, CA I just love how the classic red “Cocktails” sign plays off the cool tones of the horizontal neon.

As some of you may know I’m a huge fan of vintage neon and I’ve posted hundreds of pics over the years. Do any Venice/Santa Monica locals know if this sign for Lincoln Hardware lights up at night? I’d like to snap a few pics of it does. Thanks

Always on the lookout for retro vibes and, of course, vintage neon. Ate at Chez Jay last night in Santa Monica. Super dark and busy inside and they frown on taking pics. The booth and red and white checkered table cloth scream old school. Chez Jay opened in 1959.

Mel’s Diner. Santa Monica where Route 66 ends. This year is the 100 year anniversary of the mother word. This is one of the few Googie buildings left and I’m thankful to have seen it last night . Started life as the Penguin Coffee Shop in 1959.
