➡️ Trump diz que Lula terá grande papel em conselho de Gaza: "Gosto dele" metropoles.com/mundo/trump-di…

Where did all those influencers go — people like @ComicDaveSmith who attacked Israel from every possible stage? Must be on a winter holiday. Otherwise, how do you explain the deafening silence in the face of the current massacre and oppression in Iran? Shame.

You can already see the Latin-Americanisation of the US, the moronic jingoism and prideful foreign policy of the Right combined with the batshit Communism of the Left. This is how every election could be from now on. Swapping between El Fascisto or El Communista

it's really handy that wikipedia went and collated a detailed list of "signs of ai writing". so much so that you can just tell your LLM to ... not do that. i asked claude code to read that article, and create a skill to avoid all of them. enjoy: github.com/blader/humaniz…

🇻🇪If you are Venezuelan… stop for a minute, you need to read this. In recent days I have watched how a perfectly designed campaign is being orchestrated against María Corina Machado. The most striking thing is not only the intensity of the attacks, but their origin… they no longer come solely from Chavismo, but also from sectors that present themselves as anti-Chavista. For many this may seem like a paradox… for me, as a Cuban, it is an all-too-familiar script. What is happening is not new; it is an old strategy, tested and perfected over decades by totalitarian regimes. Castroism learned it from Soviet KGB manuals and the East German Stasi, and has applied it relentlessly for more than 60 years. The objective has always been to destroy any opposition leadership capable of unifying and mobilizing the country. It doesn’t matter who the person is. It doesn’t matter how honest or consistent they prove to be. If they threaten the power, they must be neutralized. The methods are varied and subtle: revisionism about their figure, rumors, intrigues, moral disqualifications, smear campaigns, accusations without evidence, and above all, the constant sowing of distrust. The most effective part of this mechanism is that it is rarely carried out head-on. It is almost never the regime itself that leads the attacks. They use supposedly “independent” voices, “critical” analysts, frustrated opponents, ambiguous influencers, digital platforms and even media outlets that—consciously or unconsciously—end up reproducing the script. Some are infiltrators. Others act out of resentment, a thirst for protagonism or simple naivety. The result is always the same… to fracture, divide and demoralize those who fight for real change. In Cuba we have seen this movie over and over again. Every time a figure emerges who is capable of connecting with the people, inspiring hope and bringing wills together, the same machinery is activated… first they ridicule them, then they discredit them, and finally they try to isolate them. That is why on the island there is a painful phrase drawn from this sad reality: “For some, a good opponent is a dead opponent or one who is in prison.” What I observe today in Venezuela follows exactly that same pattern. I am amazed—and at the same time not surprised—at the precision with which the methodology is repeated. The timing, the messages, the points of attack and even the language are almost identical to those that Castroism has used for decades. When I look at María Corina Machado I see something very clear… a woman who has withstood threats, persecution, forced exile, hate campaigns and massive psychological operations… and who still stands. That is precisely what the regime wants to destroy. Because no authoritarian system fears anything more than a legitimate, coherent leadership with popular support. Venezuela is living a historic moment. And it is precisely in these moments when the power’s traps are most activated. My warning is simple and direct: Do not let yourselves be divided. Do not let yourselves be confused. Do not repeat the mistakes that we Cubans made. I speak to you from the experience of a country that has been trapped for 67 years by these same tactics. Defending democratic leadership is not fanaticism; it is understanding how the enemy operates. And today, whether some like it or not, that leadership in Venezuela has a name: María Corina Machado. Learn from our mistakes. You still have time. -@MagJorgeCastro
