This is no different than the fake versions of Claude that are now appearing ahead of the real one (use.ai being the worst offender there)

In general AI text detection is very useful IMO, particularly as many people find it hard to detect themselves.
May not work forever, but right now it’s quite good at identifying slop

AI detectors can't even detect the presence of AI properly.
If they can't even do that, I'm not inclined to think they'll be doing anything useful any time soon.

Have 1 friend who is a plumber and 1 who owns a tile business. Sister and brother-in-law work in transport w/in film industry etc

The number of people I encounter who can’t explain their (generally “good”) jobs and/or what their spouses do is staggering. I’d love to see people try to describe what they actually do for a living in a single 280 character tweet in a way that the average person can understand.
