Spoke to the “peer” @AnthemBCBS provided today, who was a pharmacist with no speciality training in oncology. She refused to approved my request to start my patient at a lower dose. They said there is no oncologist I can talk to, which seems illegal. #reformpriorauth

I’m not sure how great my first (Zoom) lecture was while recovering from a mild concussion and surgery to repair a very badly fractured collarbone, but this guy was certainly a hit. Spent the entire time trying to get into my lap. Several students requested, “show us the cat!”

A thread about our depraved healthcare system, and a plea. In 2021, my friend Carole was diagnosed with terminal stage four cancer. A single parent with two kids, she had just turned 43. In 2017, she had watched her brother Chris die of the same cancer. He too was in his 40s.
