Everyone, Quick update on Project Esports Atlas 🚀 We’ve made some solid progress over the last weeks. The sheet is growing, more people are joining, and step by step we’re building something real. So @BAscendSeries doesn’t post on X: I will update you! ### The Benelux Ascend Series starts this week, and we’re sure @everyone is already excited for it to begin! As you already know, Benelux Division 2: the Benelux Ascend Series, kicks off on Wednesday. Matches will be played on Wednesdays and Fridays, and the competition will follow the same format as Benelux Division 1: a single round-robin in BO3, followed by playoffs for the top 6 teams. One goal: win Division 2 and earn a chance to join Division 1 in the Summer Split! We’re also sharing the match schedule so you have no excuse to miss a game. (Some slight changes may still occur.) For Division 3, we’re keeping almost the same format as in Winter: 3 weekends of Open Qualifiers will allow you to earn points. The top 6 teams will advance to the Benelux Ascend Series Rising! This final stage will crown a champion and, most importantly, determine the 4 teams that will face 4 Division 2 teams to reshuffle the standings and deliver the most competitive Summer Split possible. Working on a small but focused plan to improve how esports communities connect and grow in the Benelux. Starting simple: better intake, clearer structure, and real coordination per game. @ArmipotentCS @KenAijmNight Connecting grassroots to BAS/ROL through proper promotion and relegation gives players purpose and supports a long-term amateur scene. It also helps drive interest in higher-tier play by creating a clear connection,at least in theory.

@KenAijmNight One aspect I haven't seen touched on yet is that singular bursts of energy (i.e. grassroots tournaments, media events) don't translate into lasting momentum. If a central platform could connect these events, they become more successful/lasting + have communities built around them

Really interesting takes here 👇 So far I’m seeing a few clear gaps in Benelux esports 🇧🇪🇳🇱🇱🇺: – Lack of lower divisions / long-term structure (LoL) – No clear progression / pathway (Valorant) – “Reason to play” missing for many teams – Funding & audience challenges Feels like it all points to one thing: missing foundation. What am I missing? 👇

@KenAijmNight 4⃣That’s what traditional sports do really well, amateur football or basketball clubs exist because there’s a long-term structure and progression. If we bring that into League, you create space for actual amateur teams with a longer-term vision instead of short-lived mixes.

What’s missing when it comes to accessibility in Benelux esports 🇧🇪🇳🇱🇱🇺? Clear entry points? Consistent competitions? Better structure? I’m exploring a grassroots idea: one central platform for multiple games (LoL, Valorant, RL, CS2, OW). @KenAijmNight 3⃣What’s missing is a proper division system: Multiple tiers (Division 4, 5, 6, …) Clear promotion/relegation Top teams (e.g. #1–2) always get a shot at moving up No matter what level you play at, you should feel like you’re competing for something.

@KenAijmNight 2⃣If you invest in lower tiers, you don’t just help beginners, you build long-term engagement. And that naturally leads to more retention, more stories, and eventually more viewership.

@KenAijmNight 1⃣For League of Legends specifically, I think the biggest gap is still at the lower tiers. Even with the introduction of Division 3 in BAS, there’s still almost nothing structured for lower elo teams. That’s where the real opportunity is.

Welcome @KarmineCorp Blue & @lol_witchcraft to the EMEA Masters Winter Split! 🏆 Both teams were invited following their participation in LEC Versus, as they couldn't compete in their local ERLs. While the Los Ratones project has officially closed, 4 out of 5 former players will continue their journey in the competition under the new Witchcraft banner. 🧙‍♂️
