A meeting on the proposal for Majuli Island was held on 1st April, 2026 at the Brahmaputra Board's Conference Hall in the presence of Dr. Ranbir Singh, Chairman, Brahmaputra Board (attended via online) and Er. Abhay Kumar, General Manager, Brahmaputra Board; Shri Basanta Kumar Deka, Chief Engineer-I; Shri Shyamal Kumar Deka, SE (Jorhat); Dr. Ranjit Deka (Director, NEHARI), Er. Siddhant Sharma, Executive Engineer, Majuli Division and Shri Deepak Kumar, Assistant Engineer. During the session, an insightful presentation regarding the Majuli Island project was delivered by the NERIWALM research team, represented by Principal Investigator Dr. Sagarika Patowari and Hydrology Expert Prof. Uzzal Mani Hazarika, Dr. Saurav Bhattacharjee, GIS Specialist along with Young Professionals and Project Assistant who detailed the project’s design, methodology, and ecological integration.

The 11th Quarterly Dialogue was held on 30.03.2026 at the Central Water Commission auditorium, Lucknow, under the chairmanship of the Chief Engineer (CWC, Lucknow) and co-chaired by the Regional Director (CGWB, NR, Lucknow). The programme was conducted in both offline and online modes, with participation from various Uttar Pradesh state departments along with representatives from CGWB, Northern Region, Lucknow; Upper Ganga Basin, CWC, Lucknow; and other concerned departments. During the session, the regional director presented the status of JSSB 2.0 and highlighted the importance of data sharing for updating the Master Plan of Artificial Recharge, 2025. CGWB, WCR, Ahmedabad, successfully organized a workshop on "Presentation & Sharing of NAQUIM Report of Junagadh District for Water Resource Management Planning" at the District Collector Office, Junagadh, chaired by Shri Anil Ranavasiya, IAS (Collector & DM, Junagadh). Sh. N. Veerababu (Sc-C) welcomed dignitaries, Sh. Himesh Pandya (Sc-C) outlined objectives, and Dr. Subhash Singh (AHG) presented NAQUIM findings. Sh. N. Veerababu demonstrated the CGWB website for accessing NAQUIM reports and datasets of CGWB. A brochure highlighting CGWB activities with QR codes to reports was also shared. The Collector appreciated CGWB’s scientific work and directed departments to integrate recommendations into JSJB and MNREGA projects for effective field-level implementation.
