@MiamiMarlins_UK You let them off easy Peter! The Marlins did fleece the Orioles though. We gave away WAY too many players with controllability. Sherman/Bendix in such a hurry to whitewash the organization that they got hosed on almost every deal. Sad.

@CraigMish I understand trading Arraez- but they wasted a golden opportunity to get Merrill, Campusano, or their top catching prospect Salas (ALL POSITIONS OF NEED) for the Marlins. All, with the exception of campusano maybe, would have been fair offers for the reigning 2 time batting champ

There is no spinning the Arraez deal. In a rebuild, it has to be done & that’s the chosen path. Return is ok. Not as much as last Winter probably but there just simply wasn’t a ton of interest. You can get really burned playing for the middle. That’s the lesson here.

Avisail Garcia wouldn’t be on any other team’s major league roster. Somehow, he’s the Marlins Opening Day DH. Make it make sense.

@AdamSchefter These rules have been taken too far. QB’s are hyper protected in a league where RB’s (who take the most punishment) are being paid less and less. IMO the NFL will now see more cut tackling (at the thigh or knee) which is more dangerous and will be also be banned in the future.

Marlins rotation has been decimated and NEEDS innings badly. Peter Bendix specialises in upside moves. Trevor Bauer is a perfect fit. Former Cy Young, innings eater that is highly motivated. Marlins need Bauer Bauer needs the Marlins

@CraigMish Signing the best hitter on the market for a discount is a good idea for a team that has been in the bottom 5 in runs scored the last two years. We are not going to get another replacement to hit 270/25/85. Bell and burger will get plenty of AB’s. We’ll only need 115 games from JD

Free Agent J.D. Martinez and the Marlins have had recent discussions. Miami seems to prefer the rotating DH combo of Josh Bell & Jake Burger thus not a fit, at least for now. Martinez is seeking a 2 year deal per source.

Take away the two trades: The Pablo trade bringing in Arraez and the Trade that brought Edwards/Chargois to Miami in the 2022/23, the moves that KIM NG made failed in 2023. Segura - 😨 Amaya - Failure (so far) Cueto - Failure Wendle as fulltime SS failed (Jazz MOVE at CF was not a failure, give him a full season he will be a gold glover 20/20 guy) BENDIX has made similar minor league moves and one ML move in Brujan who has 0 minor league options.
