@BBraddmt @mtracey I got it from reading Hunter S. Thompson. In "Fear and Loathing on the campaign trail: 1972" Thompson (biased for McGovern) goes off on Humphrey 's history of shilling for support from any major old school Dem group he can get money out of

Did you know? Ten days before he was killed, Robert F. Kennedy Sr. went to a synagogue in Portland, OR and pledged everlasting commitment to Israel, including sending them 50 Phantom jets -- a major policy shift, essentially formalizing the US role as Israel's chief arms supplier

I am willing to bet that not one of the 60% walked the kibbutz after Oct 7 or watched the 47 minute Hamas shot video where they killed parents in front of kids, kids in front of parents and bragged about the rapes and murders.

• 60% of American adults now have an unfavorable view of Israel 🇮🇱. • That’s up from 53% last year and 42% in 2022. • In both political parties, a majority of adults under age 50 view Israel negatively. (84% of Democrats, 57% of Republicans) 👉🏻 pewresearch.org/short-reads/20…

@BBraddmt @mtracey It was also in reaction to Vice President Hubert Humphrey being in the race. Hube was constantly courting the Jewish vote and pledging support for Israel.

Tucker appears to finally criticize Trump directly for the Iran War, which he warns is on track to become a Nuclear War, but then theorizes that Trump is being manipulated by Satan to exterminate Christianity, and is either himself the Anti-Christ, or ushering in the Anti-Christ

@Ray891201 @anthonyzenkus Before 2003, there was the INS, which functioned as both ICE and CBP. If you got rid of ICE, there would not be any enforcement other than at the border.

More Americans sympathize with Palestinians than they do with Israel. More Americans want to abolish ICE than keep it. And every major name that's been floated for the Dems in 2028 believes the opposite. So instead of demanding Dems run a candidate in sync with voters, the Democratic establishment has decided to attack a podcaster.

You're right. JFK allowed the sale of anti-missile systems. LBJ was the first to allow the sale of offensive weapons. Still, many Arms came from the US during the embargo through smuggling. Here is an excellent source of information regarding how israel sourced weapons in those early years. The Arms Ships share.google/G185a3iitdhUH4…

@DougKass Thanks for spreading this message of hope and peace. Please don't be deterred by the folks that respond with vitriol. They choose the path of death and destruction over the path of life and building peace.

The 1967 war was started by Israel with a "pre-emptive" strike on Egypt. Israel also invaded Lebanon, Syria and Jordan. The Arab countries couldn't match Israel. So Israel occupied new territories that it still occupies today. This caused new forces to emerge in to fight the Israelis as their governments were ineffective.

@mtracey I don't think you can compare the situation in the middle east in the 60s to today. Also, it was not a major policy shift. We had been selling arms to the Israelis before his speech. Finally, it was a campaign promise, which is fools gold.

Again, there is nothing in the treaty that obligates a member or NATO to join a war of aggression. It's a defense treaty, not an offense treaty. Second, if any member decides to help the US, it needs to make the case to its citizens that this is an action taken in collective defense. Noone is buying trump's lies about a nuclear attack on the US, other than fox news and trump loyalists. Italy, France etc isn't going to risk becoming a target or soldiers dying for this. They simply can't make the case to their citizens.

Even if you did not support Trumps decision to launch of war of choice against Iran (like me), restricting the use of US airbases in NATO countries imprudently damages NATO unity. Yes, Trumps threats to invade/annex NATO countries does too. But 2 wrongs don’t make a right.

The United States has spent EIGHT TRILLION DOLLARS fighting and policing in the Middle East. Thousands of our Great Soldiers have died or been badly wounded. Millions of people have died on the other side. GOING INTO THE MIDDLE EAST IS THE WORST DECISION EVER MADE.....

Horrific! Iranian ballistic missile striking the central Israeli city of Petah Tikva, as families meant to be celebrating Passover, one of the holiest periods of the Jewish year! World response? DEAFENING SILENCE!

@John34856683 @DA_Stockman Zeros were designed to run on 93 octane but Japan had to resort to lower grade fuel as 93 octane became less available. This led to engine degradation and sometimes engine failure.

This is completely ignorant historically. Japan wasn't looking for a fight with the US---FDR forced them into it by putting an embargo on oil and other raw material which threatened to choke their economy.....If that sounds like the US sanctions on Iran, it was. As for England pre-empting Hitler, give me a break. The English at Versailles agreed to dismember Germany by cutting Prussia in half and sticking the Danzig corridor right thru it. More than anything, the German irredentism that came out of the idiotic Versailles Treaty is what Hitler rode to power on. If you really want to understand the last war, study the war before that.
Bill Mitchell@mitchellvii

I compare Trump hitting IRAN now to Roosevelt attacking Japan BEFORE Pearl Harbor, or England hitting Hitler BEFORE he invaded Poland, or tightening up airline security BEFORE 9/11. We in the West always seem to wait until AFTER the disaster to take action. Trump is different.

Friends, yesterday, I had the opportunity to offer a prayer at an Easter lunch hosted by the White House. What follows is the text of that invocaton: Heavenly Father, almighty and eternal God, provident Lord of history, we come before you today in an attitude of humble gratitude. We are thankful, Lord, for this opportunity to be together in fellowship, for the faith that unites us, and for the blessings of liberty that we enjoy as Americans. But we are grateful, above all, on this holiest week of the year, for the gift of your Son Jesus Christ, who is God from God, light from light, true God from true God; who is the Yes to all the promises made to Israel; who is the Lamb standing as though slain; who is the Alpha and the Omega; who is the Lion of Judah; who is the desire of the everlasting hills; and who is the Word made flesh. Father, you so loved the world that you sent your only Son that all who believe in him might not perish but might have eternal life. On Good Friday, you sent him indeed to the very limits of godforsakenness that he might gather back to you even those who had wandered furthest away. On the cross, he took upon himself the sins of the world—injustice, cruelty, hatred, violence, betrayal, and denial—that he might swallow them up in the ever-greater divine mercy. On Easter Sunday, Father, you raised him from death, showing your victory over all of the powers of darkness. Having met the risen Jesus, St. Paul could therefore say, “I am certain that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither height nor depth, nor any other creature could separate us from the love of God.” We bless you, Father, for you have given us the privilege of declaring the kingship of Christ to the world and calling all people to be subject to him. And so, Lord, conform us to Christ your Son. Clothe us, we pray, with his compassion, his meekness, his love for the poor. Father, we ask you to bless our country. Make us prosperous and safe, but above all, make us morally upright and order our freedom toward your truth. Bless our troops, especially those who are most directly in harm’s way. Protect them and make them righteous warriors. And finally, Father, bless our President. Give him the grace, the courage, the wisdom, and the prudence he needs to perform his duties according to your will. We say, with gratitude, that we are a nation under God. We acknowledge that in you we live and move and have our being. We know that our freedom and rights come from you. Continue, Lord, to shed your grace on us and to hold us in the palm of your hand. We pray through Christ our Lord. Amen.
