There is an impression that it rains a lot in the UK. But parts of Spain, often thought of as a very dry country, have far more rain than much of Scotland does. Barcelona (red arrow) is wetter than Elgin on the Moray coast. East Lothian is comfortably drier than Bilbao.

Morocco 10/10. Am transfer to Marrakech crossing the mighty Atlas. Not a lot of time, but enough to ensure lovely views on Seebohm's Wheatear and to enjoy some raptors migration at Taddern Pass, including close views on Booted Eagles. #birdsofprey

Morocco 9/10. Our last full day in the country has produced Eastern Olivaceous Warblers, great views on Lanner Falcon, 11 Lesser Kestrels, Spanish Sparrow and 58 Red-rumped Swallows migrating North despite the strong wind and the rainy afternoon. #birds
