Many of you raised concerns to us via social media and email regarding the deeply alarming comments made about an Iftar event in Trafalgar Square during the month of Ramadan. Tagging/emailing/calling us etc. about anti-Muslim hate comments is what drives our research and showcases evidence to the relevant bodies that comments from politicians can affect communities who are simply practicing their faith. Recently, our team were in the West Midlands for a constructive community roundtable focused on tackling anti-Muslim hatred. The day continued with important discussions with the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner Simon Foster and Deputy PCC Wasim Ali, followed by a meeting with Scott Green, Acting Chief Constable of West Midlands Police. These conversations are vital in ensuring a joined-up approach between communities, policing, and partners, working collectively to improve reporting, build trust, and make our communities safer for all. It would be nice if all the people outraged by Muslim prayers in Trafalgar Square shared this wonderful post about the Passion in the square today. On my way to church this afternoon, I saw local rabbis in Gants Hill and Muslims going for Friday prayers. This is 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿.

I’d like to wish everyone a happy and peaceful Easter that is full of togetherness and joy.

The arson attack on 4 ambulances from the Jewish volunteer service Hatzola in Golders Green is absolutely horrific. This shocking antisemitic act is condemned. We must stand together against antisemitic hatred. Our thoughts are with the Jewish community at this distressing time.

Today, is the UN Day to Combat Islamophobia, marked to remember the 51 innocent worshippers murdered in the horrific Christchurch mosque attacks in 2019. Their lives were stolen in an act of far-right terror driven by hatred and amplified online. @BMuslimTrust we honour their memory by standing firmly against Islamophobia, anti-Muslim hatred & hostility and violent extremism in all its forms.

Appalling to hear of this incident at Manchester Central Mosque especially during the holy month of Ramadan. Nobody should feel unsafe in their place of worship.

I am concerned to hear of the incident at Manchester Central Mosque last night. I know this will be worrying for Muslim communities, especially during Ramadan, a time of peace and reflection. My thanks go to the volunteers and emergency services for their quick response. We have provided up to £40 million funding for additional security at mosques, Muslim schools and community centres, and will continue to act to ensure communities are able to live without fear.
