May hit that more next pod. I honestly think *4 things about it...
1) People assume wayyy too much theological sophistication and awareness of him. He's like your not-sure-he's-saved conservative and very rough around the edges blue collar grandpa that worked in a factory his whole life and has a "yeah, I'm for all that God stuff - seems good for our country" vibe.
2) Because that's indicative of his theological awareness / sophistication, I think he looked at a meme like that for about 2 seconds and thought something like, "Yeah, I'm trying to do stuff that's good for God" and posted it, not trying to "commit blasphemy" and set himself up as Christ.
3) Unintentional blasphemy still comes across as blasphemy and is bad...
4) ... Which is why when someone who had more theological awareness made him aware of how it came across and why that's a big deal, he took it down and should've.
*5) Many people who hate him (or are insecure about how people who hate him view them) are always going to interpret him in the most extreme worst possible light with worst possible intentions. Welcome to current American politics.
**6) those same people will see a post like this and say it's "simping for trump" or "defending blasphemy", but it's not
Did you see this from the pastor from Lakepointe Church? I know I follow him on here, but I can't remember his name. If you do please tag him under this post because his thoughts on Tucker Carlson are brilliant and he should get credit.
Tucker is VERY selective about which religions can be criticized and which cannot. The fact that this isn't an alarm bell for everyone says everything about how ideologically captured so many of you are....
@HarrisonGarlic1 Maybe. But only because James, the brother of Jesus, wasn't there.
Acts 15:19 James deciding, AFTER Peter and Paul present their cases: “It is MY JUDGEMENT, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God."
James led + decided. Not Peter.
Every Easter season, you see the same jokes.
People laugh and post memes about John recording he beat Peter to the tomb.
Yet, many people couple their jokes with a comment wondering why else would John even record this detail?
📚Well, what if it wasn’t about humor but about John’s respect for Peter’s biblical role?
In this piece, explore the New Testament’s subtle but consistent portrait of Peter as the leader among the Twelve.
Discover why John’s “humble-brag” might be the ultimate nod to apostolic primacy.

@tomhfh Read Psalm 22. Crucifixion was described followed by his death and then he's alive again. Which Ps 22 then says causes people from every nation to convert to worship Yahweh (God). Written 1000 BC. We have a hard copy of this writing in the Dead Sea Scrolls dated >100BC
From the Garden (Genesis 2:8-9), to a Garden lost (Genesis 3:23-24), to a Garden promised (Deuteronomy 11:10-12), to a Garden tomb (John 19:41), to the Garden city (Revelation 21:10, 22:1-3).
@sola_chad These numbers are greatly skewed by poor survey questionnaire design. Completely unreliable.
(I've seen the survey questions - really bad design that can affect how people respond).
@darwintojesus Nailed it! Best explanation I've read of this.
Multiple scientists like Doug Axe have calc'd the odds of forming a 3D fold by chance. The "best" odds are something like 1 in 10^50 - which is still insanely low - and as you said that is for only 1 protein!
There are only two possible theories for life’s origin: blind chance or intentional design.
The problem for naturalists is that the more we learn about life, the more impossible their theory becomes.
But just how unlikely is it?
Here’s why life is 100% designed🧵
