The past three days have been extremely stressful and draining. The attack led by @SuellaBraverman @PatrickChristys and amplified by their followers and @GBNEWS viewers, simply because I want to bring my three children (all under five) and my husband with me during my MA journey, has been vicious. @SuellaBraverman, your own parents came to the UK as immigrants and built their lives there. If the rules you are advocating today had applied then, you might have grown up in India or Africa, not in Britain. I don’t understand why @SuellaBraverman hasn’t been asked to comment on my case on @GBNEWS . Maybe it’s because her own parents were immigrants? I acknowledge that deleting my viral tweet and deactivating my account after receiving a wave of hateful messages was a huge mistake. I will not hide. I will not stay silent. I will defend my rights that are defined and permitted under the UK visa system. Being accused of visa fraud before I have even set foot in the UK is deeply unjustifiable. My sole intention in coming to the UK is to pursue my MA.

@narindertweets Even by your standards this is a stupid post. The fees aren't 'revenue', they cover the not insignificant expense of civil servants (each receiving a taxpayer funded 24% of salary contribution to their index linked pensions) to process the claims. Think before you type.

Even BEFORE paying income tax, a typical migrant already generates government revenue - Around £475m is paid to Britain in applications fees alone. Billions in net contribution thereafter. BILLIONS. (Hence why every British government encourages immigration) Farage wants this country broke, eating chlorinated chicken, letting his mates off with tax payments and getting involved in wars with Trump.

Typical of the ignorance that pollutes twitter on energy matters. For a start almost all UK North Sea gas is piped ashore and enters the national distribution system. Cheaper than imported LNG. Oil can be exported direct from the North Sea. But it still pays 78% tax to UK Treasury, employs thousands in well-paid jobs and counts as a UK export, so helping our balance of payments. But other than that oil and gas from North Sea obviously do nothing for us.

Starmer was quick to release a public statement about this 'incident' which turned out to be a couple of workman entering a mosque with a toolbag They were then accosted by the Muslim men present and held against their will, otherwise known as kidnapping, before being arrested for carrying 'weapons' What they tried to portray as some sort of 'far right terror attack' was nothing of the sort. When can we expect an apology from the Imam of the mosque?

I am concerned to hear of the incident at Manchester Central Mosque last night. I know this will be worrying for Muslim communities, especially during Ramadan, a time of peace and reflection. My thanks go to the volunteers and emergency services for their quick response. We have provided up to £40 million funding for additional security at mosques, Muslim schools and community centres, and will continue to act to ensure communities are able to live without fear.
