Excellent speech by King Charles. So good to hear the clarion cry for Ukraine, for NATO, for nature and the environment, for democracy and the checks on power. JFK mentioned more than Trump. Starmer directly quoted. Europe mentioned several times. Vance looked ill. I loved it. Loved the confidence in British and European values

Myra Hindley and lan Brady photographed in the Old Bailey during the 'Moors Murders' Trial.
The picture was taken illegally by a French journalist who strapped a camera to his ankle.
The Moors murders were carried out between July 1963 and October 1965, in and around Manchester, England.
The victims were five children: Pauline Reade, John Kilbride, Keith Bennett, Lesley Ann Downey, and Edward Evans.
All were aged between 10 and 17, at least four of whom were sexually assaulted.

@PrivateEyeNews Please take a look at Bristol city Council and their total mismanagement of the Downs. A social and environmental disaster.

Croydon’s crisis-torn council hired Adam Wilkinson as interim head of planning, only for him to leave within weeks after it emerged his consultancy had been dissolved following a winding-up order by HM Revenue and Customs for unpaid tax.
PLUS news from the Rotten Boroughs of Surrey, Horsham, West Berkshire, North Northants, Warwickshire, and North Tyneside in the new Eye. Plus a Reform round-up.

🍌 We're thrilled to have reopened Langton Street Bridge, AKA Banana Bridge, five months early and under budget!
It's had a complete restoration and is looking very smart and more banana like than ever with its new coat of yellow paint.

A heartbreaking moment that was saved by an SS photographer at Auschwitz II-Birkenau during the deportations of Hungarian Jews.
It was taken 81 years ago, most likely in late May 1944. A little child finds a dandelion in the grass and is handing it or showing it to an older boy.
All the people in this picture had already gone through the arrival selection and were awaiting to be murdered in a gas chamber. They were killed shortly after.
Please share this unique document.

Have you ever watched a baby die of pertussis? I have. Several.
This is what it looks like:
A newborn baby can’t stop coughing. They can’t catch their breath and they can’t eat. They get dehydrated and stop peeing. They sometimes have pauses in their breathing. Parents are terrified so they come to the ER.
In the ER, labs show they have a dangerously high white blood cell count. Their blood has become thick from the white blood cells and doesn’t travel through organs like it should. Less oxygen gets delivered to vital organs. They start to seize. Imaging reveals they had a stroke. They can’t pump blood to their lungs and body.
A breathing tube gets placed in their trachea. They get put on a ventilator. A plastic catheter is placed in their veins and arteries to give them medicine and measure blood pressure.
If they are lucky, they can make it to a #PedsICU that provides #ECMO, or full heart lung bypass. They are attached to machines that take over all their body functions.
But it’s too late. Their hands and feet turn black because they can’t perfuse their bodies. Their faces turn grey/green. They won’t stop seizing from the brain injury.
They are attached to too many machines to hold while alive and parents lay their bodies on top of them and cry until they fall asleep then cry again.
There is nothing to do but stop the machines. Antibiotics to treat pertussis were given but were no match for the infections effects on a newborn baby.
Parents finally hold their baby after the machines have turned off and their baby is cold and lifeless.
Is this what you want? This is what RFK Jr will bring to American families.

BLITZ, the new Steve McQueen film, is absolutely brilliant. Saoirse Ronan is on her usual mega-award-winning form, the young boy Elliott Hefferman is a total revelation and it is great to see grey-haired Paul Weller tinkling away on the piano. But as a portrayal of living through the Blitz I don’t think I have seen anything better. And of course Stephen Graham/Kathy Burke cameos are pretty epic
