Icarus_I has was minted, and collected by my dear friend @T05HII at an offer of โ33 ($2,046 at time of sale).
I believe Icarus_I is my most ambitious and best sculpture to date. created in virtual reality and body molded from a single cube, I truly wanted to test myself all while displaying motion and fluidity within a static object.
as for the inspiration behind this piece -- it's inspired by personal experiences of where I flew too close to the sun, along with moments where I saw my peers do the exact same. so often when the story of Icarus is told, people usually only highlight his ego ---- but leave off, he was escaping a life of shackles. he was in search for freedom and a better life, but zigged when he should have zagged and paid the price.
