PuWe 1 captured from my dark site in southern France 😊🔭 It was shot on the EdgeHD 8 with Hyperstar at f/2 for a total integration time of 6.5 hours with an OSC cam and the Baader UHCL filter. PuWe 1 is one of the largest and faintest planetary nebula known! #Astrophotography

Today is my birthday and what I want more than anything is for Molly to become a lap cat but I suppose I will settle for world peace. 🤞🏼✌🏼

When orphaned elephants lose their mothers, they lose everything. That’s where we step in. Our Keepers guide them, as their lost mothers would have done, hand-feed bottles of milk and even sleep bedside them. Walking, side by side, until the orphans are ready to return to the wild. Adopt an orphaned elephant in our care and you can become a part of their family, helping us to provide care, comfort and protection. Adopt for yourself at: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/orphans

Eagle nebula. Captured with our remote telescope at Starfront in Texas. This data was actually my first light from last year.

After Maisie died, I swore I would NEVER get another pet. There was no way I could ever handle the pain of losing another one. But the cat distribution system had other plans and this little kitty, who had spent her whole life living as a stray, desperately alone and starving to death, came wandering into my life. I think Maisie sent her to me because we both needed each other. 🥰 Pet grief is a weird thing - I wrote a little substack post about it for those who may need to read it. sophiegreenart.substack.com/p/can-we-talk-…

@LisaBromfield Yes a fast scope needs special attention. With Hyperstar at f/2 I’m down to 60’’ exposures and I recently started to even capture separate 10’’ subs for the stars. With the original stars at 60 sec the target was often drowning in stars and they were hard to reduce that much.

@BFlachsbart Thanks Bernd. I’ll do shorter exposures next time. 300” at f/3.45 is a bit too much (I’m so used to imaging at f/7) 🙂
