My warm take on birthright citizenship: Wholly defensible to be against it as policy and wholly reasonable to want to reform it in some way. Also intellectually defensible to say that the 14th amendment is being misinterpreted. Doesn't mean I agree, but I don't think it's crazy either. But even if you win that argument, you still need to deal with century+ of precedent and statutory language that codifies it and has created massive reliance interests. I consider it an open question whether Congress can repeal or modify birthright citizenship. I think it is absolutely nuts and dangerous to think a president can repeal it through executive order, and defending the E.O. because you agree with the underlying policy is itself indefensible. That's it. That's my take.

Victor Glover (pilot of Artemis II) was already a spacecraft pilot for SpaceX Crew-1. He is a naval captain who has had his naval aviator wings for 25 years. He has three (3) masters degrees, including in flight test engineering and systems engineering. He's been a test pilot since 2007. He has thousands of flight hours.

Today's ruling by the IOC means a welcome return to fair sport for women and girls, but I'll never forget the scandal of Paris 2024, when people who consider themselves supremely virtuous and progressive publicly cheered on men punching women.

BREAKING 🚨 The IOC has officially banned males (including those who are trans-identified) from the female sports category. It's a perfect time to watch our video on the sex screening process in collaboration with @FondOfBeetles, @BrowngaGreg, @runthinkwrite, @Scienceofsport!

I wholeheartedly welcome the new IOC guidelines that secure a safe and fair female category that excludes male athletes. SRY screening is a simple, non-invasive, once-in-a-lifetime check that returns female sport to female athletes. Laurel Hubbard should not have been allowed to lift weights against women. Caster Semenya should not have been allowed to run against women. Imane Khelif should not have been allowed to punch women in the face. This is a vindication for all the brilliant women who have fought for fairness and safety for all women in sport. Thank you to Kirsty Coventry, Jane Thornton and all those in the working group for a clear, evidence based policy. @iocmedia

I often try to explain to people that media bias isn't all ideological. The media is also biased towards bad news, stories about the media itself, sex, violence, money, etc. The fact that a quadruple amputee competitive corn hole player murdered someone is an example of another kind of bias: unusual stories that people like talking about. There is nothing inherently wrong with this bias. My only point is that biases we like are rarely identified as a bias. We just call it news judgment or editorial judgement, if we call it anything at all. nytimes.com/athletic/71421…

This is just extraordinary malpractice and a direct consequence of failing to secure Congressional and public support for the war. He knows that Americans haven't been persuaded to sacrifice for the war effort, so he'll even help Iran to protect our markets.

When Charlie Kirk was murdered, those of us on the conservative side rightly chastised those of our political adversaries who cheered and celebrated his death. We accused them--again rightly--of shameful callousness and of polluting public discourse and coarsening social life. What President Trump does here merits the same chastisement, for the same reasons.

It is very strange to publish an article on the gender dynamics of mass shooters and not mention that the two "female" shooters used as flagship examples here were biologically male. Males commit more than 90% of violent crimes.
