At the @BGDialogue 2024, I joined a panel discussion on "Reshaping the Global Economic Landscape – Opportunities for Emerging Markets" alongside Saudi Arabia's Minister of Economy and Planning @falibrahim, Turkiye's Minister of Finance @memetsimsek, and Elif Bilgi Zapparoli, Head of International Client Strategy, @BankofAmerica. Moderated by @CNN's @LarryMadowo, the session focused on how emerging markets can enhance their presence in the global value chain. I highlighted Nigeria’s strategic foreign policy driven by the 4Ds (demography, development, diaspora, and democracy), and emphasized the wealth of opportunities in our youthful population, natural resources, and technological advancements for investors. #BGD2024

This year's @BGDialogue had the theme of "Building Common Ground." Worth a watch at: youtube.com/watch?v=7W1aLr… The common ground among Robert Habeck, Ola Kallenius, @brianxpeng and @MalmstromEU is that tariffs is not the answer but there needs to be level playing field. Though subsidization may have played in a role in China getting to where it is today in NEVs, Brian mentions something very important that might be overlooked: competition has been a big driver. While Ola was quite adamant on Germany voting no, Habeck was more hesitant but said there needs to be a "political solution." Malmstrom simply said the fact: affordable, high quality EVs, China can deliver them today, the EU cannot.

Engagements at the Berlin Global Dialogue brought together high-level stakeholders, including Prof Lars-Hendrik Röller, Chairman, Green Guarantee Group/Founder & Host of @BGDialogue, and Jennifer Morgan, State Secretary and Special Representative for International Climate Policy, at the German Federal Foreign Office, to discuss the guarantees for financing climate change projects. The discussions highlighted the associated risks and opportunities for stakeholders involved. Al-Ahli hospital in #Gaza is out of service following this morning’s evacuation order and attack - @WHO has received an update from the hospital’s director. A child died due to disruption of care. The emergency room, laboratory, emergency room X-ray machines and the pharmacy were destroyed. The hospital was forced to move 50 patients to other hospitals. 40 critical patients couldn't be moved. The hospital is unable to receive new patients pending repairs. Hospitals are protected under international humanitarian law. Attacks on health care must stop. Once again we repeat: patients, health workers and hospitals must be protected. The aid blockade must be lifted. Ceasefire.

In #Benin, every child in public primary and pre-primary schools gets a hot meal daily — thanks to the National Integrated School Feeding Programme. 🩺💊 Twice a year, schools also run health campaigns offering: ✔️ Micronutrient supplements ✔️ Deworming ✔️ Hygiene promotion ✔️ Nutrition screening In 2023 alone, 13,986 children were screened — 1,367 cases of malnutrition were detected and treated. .@WHO is appalled by the deplorable attack on Zamzam camp, North Darfur, #Sudan, in which humanitarian health workers were killed while providing health care. Attacks on civilians & health workers are grave violations of international humanitarian law and must stop. #NotATarget
