We learned about each other as leaders and evaluated our progress in relation to our Continuous Improvement efforts and our road forward towards academic excellence. We then wrapped up our week by welcoming our newest BIS teachers to MCPS for New Teacher Academy!

We kicked off this week with our first professional development sessions for our new teachers, and tonight we had the pleasure of meeting some of our families and students at the Colonial Village Back to School BBQ!

Wow, what an incredible beginning! Last week our admin team attended the MCPS Leadership Retreat where we had the opportunity to collaborate with our division leaders and dive into deep conversations about ensuring equity in our schools with author Ken Williams @unfoldthesoul.

I am thrilled to serve our community as the new Principal of BIS for the upcoming 2024-25 academic year! It is with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of responsibility that I step into this role. I am both honored and excited to begin this journey! @BISHuskyPride
