@dpmont0407 @brownliberite Co-asking? To rephrase, of what benefits is commonwealth to any of these countries? Who truly is getting “commonwealth benefits?”

@BearJFK It’s impressive how shooting someone trying to kill you, or swearing at a knife wielding child, or not being suitably experienced at dealing with suicide bombings are grounds for investigation but completely overlooking massive paedo rings for vaguely sectarian reasons isn’t.

And they get away with it again. Like with every institution of state, the defining feature is zero accountability.

@GBNEWS Wow... Despite finding that senior officers failed to protect children, the IOPC said that there was "no indication" that they "may have committed a criminal offence" or even "behaved in a manner which would justify the bringing of disciplinary proceedings."

@Abhinav1881331 @dabitch @heterodoxan @SarahTheHaider It’s impossible too, it’s ingrained and pretty much impossible to move between classes properly. Within a few sentences most British people can determine exactly where each other stand in society and judge accordingly- with social climbers generally distrusted universally

My last note on this (and then I may mute because I'm failing to garner the discussion I want): I am baffled by the lack of male response to the sexual predation of women/girls in the UK precisely because it is impossible for me to imagine it would happen in the US. 1

@BearJFK @Zaphod2042 Ocean, Albion and two Bay group would genuinely be a world-leading amphibious capability, matched only by the USMC - it’s a shame we lost it all.

@BearJFK I do like how he complains about the right creating divisions while his sole source of income seems to be sowing resentment in Godd Morning Britain for the last 15 years.

England's politics are becoming like Northern Ireland's. Flags signal which group is in the majority locally. Voters are expected to back "their" side. This is nothing to celebrate. Sectarian politics encourages, at best, complacency and corruption; at worst, civil strife.

GM Defense has shipped to the UK a first lot of Infantry Squad Vehicles so NP Aerospace can work on them to turn them into their joint, proposed solution for the British Army LMV requirement.

@AscendedYield I can’t wait for Farage to make the most of this (he won’t, because he’s a wet wipe) and then get himself nicked.

Calling to slit the throat of your political opponents is lawful speech and doesn’t encourage violent disorder

@MCRReiners @felix_sears Perhaps I’m stupid but they were both prosecuted by the state. One pleaded guilty the other didn’t and had a jury trial. Was the jury bent? Was the trial unfair?

On Connolly / Jones comparisons & the asymmetric application of law in England & Wales It should be stated that Connolly, after being arrested for her tweet, was advised to plead guilty under the threat of potentially being remanded in custody until trial. In all likelihood, it is unlikely she would not have been denied bail on any ground, or that a jury would have convicted her had she plead not guilty. Furthermore, the @attorneygeneral (Richard Hermer KC) signed off explicitly on Connolly’s prosecution under s.19 Public Order Act (1986), as is required for this rarely used section of the act. Mr Hermer, a personal friend of former CPS chief Kier Starmer, of course had no intention of doing that. s.19 is used perhaps once per year. Last summer it was used at least 15 times, that were reported. Further context on the chap (right), Ricky Jones, who suggested slitting throats, on camera, with a loudhailer, in front of a crowd. He was a sitting labour councillor at the time of this. In contrast, he plead not guilty, was not remanded in custody, and was acquitted in 30 mins by a jury. He was tried under s.2(1) POA, for encouraging violent disorder - which, as with Connolly, did not materialise as a result of his words. For s.19 however, that doesn’t matter. Our legal system, many of its grandees and our prime minister are part of a Blairite rump of lawyers, content to oversee the asymmetric application of law in Britain. They will squirm endlessly to say this is not so, on technicalities, but the appearance is crystal clear. In group out-group preference in which the British people are no longer the client.

@jamespriceglos A man who served in the government which oversaw the early decommissioning of 19 surface combatants, the sole aircraft carrier, the whole Harrier fleet, 40% of MBTs, 7000 soldiers, 35% of SP artillery, and the closure of the British foothold on the European continent. Chancer.

@AscendedYield Yup. He wrote a massive paragraph about a month ago where he was doing the typical right wing grift about how much London has changed. he thinks London was safer 10-15 years ago compared to today.
