If/when hyperbitcoinziation happens you’d want to be prepared and benefit from it The same reasons you buy it (safety/strength/stability) are the same reason US Gov would benefit I agree they are not to be trusted but it is a net positive for the network and vote of confidence

Bitcoin strategic reserve is really a dumb idea, and few bitcoiners are willing to admit it. 1. US gets the world's lowest borrowing costs (effectively) with absolutely nothing backing the bonds. Stronger reserves do nothing to help this. The supposed Ft. Knox gold is not used as collateral for anything, including the dollar. 2. The US is too dysfunctional to self-custody. That means Coinbase, and the US' holdings, become a massive attack vector. There's going to be foreign agents trying to get customer support jobs at Coinbase. Do you trust those idiots not to fuck it up? 3. Given point 1, why does the US Federal government need to own assets? Their power comes from their monopoly on violence and ability to tax. There's no added value in making them a bitcoin owner. It's not like buying Greenland - there's no oil to extract. Nobody gets to move into bitcoin if the earth warms up. The Gov is not strategic enough to execute a plan against the holdings. 4. 1 million bitcoin now becomes a political attack vector and a haven for false flags. Imagine the democrats regain power. They want to blame something on bitcoin and go to dump 1 million coins. Given the Trump team's long-term planning failures in term number one, what makes us think they'll be strategic about this? Long story short - it's unnecessary, and nobody's put any thought into the strategy beyond clicking the "buy" button.

Intangibles can be valuable when used correctly I agree in that gov't is stupid and does not spend wisely, however, like individuals/families/companies, if you invest in an appreciating asset you can monetize, it will give you more opportunities. Borrowing against bitcoin would be better than printing dollars. Additionally, it would strengthen our balance sheet.

It's good for bitcoin *if* it all goes smoothly and we follow that happy path world. But why does the government need to hold any assets at all? The Fed and its member banks are responsible for creating and issuing dollars. They don't have a claim on the gold reserves. So who "holds" the gold & bitcoin and why? There's cause for the US govt to own federal land and to own planes and tanks. But why do they need to own intangibles?

Never done a trialing stop order on Robinhood before. I did this in the past with options + shares in Schwab a lot. Testing out in my Roth on my $RIOT shares that I’m content to lose.
