Note From Dad #460 Feroze Sidhwa Went To Gaza Hi Avery! I want to talk to you about Feroze Sidhwa. Feroze is one of my oldest friends. I’ve known him since I was about 5 years old and we still keep in touch after almost 40 years. In many ways, he is still the exact same guy I grew up with. He is funny, kind and brilliant. He embodies the Zoroastrian values of Good Thoughts, Good Words and Good Deeds. I was writing in my notebook earlier and I wrote that I wished the people of Gaza had less suffering. Gaza is a part of the world where many people have died from illness, fighting and violence. It occurred to me that while I am wishing for suffering to end, Feroze actually traveled there to help. As a surgeon, a very special kind of doctor, he helped save people’s lives. Last year, Feroze flew to the country of Egypt and was driven to Gaza to serve as a doctor where medical care was needed. Nobody told Feroze to do that, he chose to volunteer. In America, it is easy to avoid the suffering in another part of the world. We don’t have to travel across the world or go to dangerous areas to serve but we can each find our own unique way to help others. Note From Dad #459 Willis Hi Avery! I want to talk to you about Willis. Willis was a customer of mine who did business with me. He tried to sell something I had sold him and he had a problem. It turns out I had made a mistake. I did not realize I should have checked something very specific many years ago and that was causing him problems. He was frustrated with me. I felt nervous and upset because I want my customers to be happy. I understood his frustration and promised him I would be by his side and help him fix this. I spoke to the people giving Willis a hard time to see how I could help. I was polite to everyone and communicated clearly what I was going to do to make the situation right. In the end, I just had to sign something and everything worked out. Willis was happy that I helped him get this done. Everyone makes mistakes. I’ll rewatch Oppenheimer or Interstellar more often than I’ll roll the dice on a new theatrical or streaming release. It’s a shit show out there. The solution for older viewers is to go back in time to the movies you skipped when you were younger. Lot of gold back then.

I’m still gonna watch The Odyssey and will most likely rewatch it at least 5 times, like I have with every other Nolan film. The casting choices, oof. But name a director that churns out as many quality movies as he does. I’ll wait. Villenueve is already accounted for.
