"I wasn't drinking and driving... I only drank at red lights." That was reportedly the defense a Florida driver gave deputies after being arrested for DUI. According to investigators, he insisted he only took drinks while stopped at traffic lights and stop signs—as if every red light was happy hour. Deputies weren't convinced. He failed field sobriety tests and was arrested, later providing breath samples nearly twice the legal limit. What's the wildest excuse you've ever heard someone give to avoid getting in trouble?

Some interesting police trivia. Before two-way radios existed, how did dispatchers alert beat officers on foot that a crime was in progress? As always I will share the correct answer after 24 hours.

The funniest line in the Odyssey isn't "our age of bronze is collapsing" It's Odysseus explaining to Penelope that the abduction of Helen stuff was just an excuse and Agamemnon did all that shit for socio economic reasons (control of trade routes).
