We work a lot with many AI models/APIs at the Studio, and it is now clear that there is a big gap between a sloppy use of those models and using them with solid architecture within complex projects. UX and UI are another beast as well. And I'm not even talking about generative AI. That being said, we can see that easy, cheap, and sloppy stuff costs barely anything, but advanced use of AI is still costly and requires proper critical thinking, planning, architecture, and design. I've never liked it when people were against AI just by principle, without really understanding the tool and the actual complexity of its use. For those who believe that anyone can become an artist, creator, designer, or developer simply because they use AI, you're WRONG. You still need heavy human input, research, and reasoning. It's simple to jump to conclusions when it's poorly understood and used. AI is a fantastic tool, but you gotta learn to use it well if you want to deliver something better than slop.

Challenging to say the least! We have learned so much working on this game. Developing for mobile on Unreal Engine is definitely hardcore, but the result looks fantastic 👌

We made a mobile puzzle indie game in Unreal Engine 5. Insane? Yes. Worth it? Also, absolutely big yes! Sooo.... 3 hard lessons from @NumWorlds that shaped how we build our new game: 🧮 UE5 mobile = HARD MODE... And math University ++ level meets documentation black holes (percolation theory, fluid dynamics, anyone?) 🌏 I didn't do any market research = BUT accidental Asian market fit (lucky...ish I guess) 👥 All-junior team = 10mo instead of 4–6 (tough on the studio's finances, but now we're sharper) Still learning. Always will be. What's your biggest dev mistake-turned-lesson?👀👇
