Indigenous people are the original inhabitants of this continent and, here in New Mexico, we live that truth every day. The fact that the Solicitor General of the United States would hesitate on our citizenship is outrageous and horrific. He doesn’t understand basic American history or the law, and he has no business holding this position.

Here’s every pitch Josh Jung saw last night. Josh is 0-for-17 to start 2026. Dead last in all of baseball in wRC+, OBP, wOBA out of 379 hitters. He is completely lost at the plate right now and has the 1000 yard stare of a guy who is completely in his own head. What makes it worse is HOW he's making outs. His avg exit velo is 79.9 mph, 335th in the league. His hard swing rate is bottom 9% in baseball. He's going up there and hacking at pitches early in counts, making weak contact, and sitting back down. The 3-pitch strikeouts and the chase rate tell the same story: he's not working counts, he's not hunting his pitch, he's just trying to survive each at-bat. That's a hitter who has lost his process entirely. The 9th inning at-bat against Tyler Wells should be very concerning. Three pitches, three called/swinging strikes. Jung never got the bat off his shoulder in a meaningful way. A 69.6 mph curveball buckled him, and Wells put him away looking on a changeup. His xwOBA is .149. Zero contact quality. At some point, continuing to send him out there against major league pitching every night stops being an opportunity and starts being a slow erosion of whatever confidence he has left. We need the Jungle Cat back. But you don't get him back by letting him go 0-for-4 in front of 40,000 people every night until something clicks. It might be time for Ezequiel Duran to take over 3rd.

Yesterday I documented Josh Jung’s struggles and suggested we send him down to AAA to work out his swing. We cannot continue to have him burning at-bats when the rest of the lineup is this hot. That opens roster questions.
The move at 3B is obvious. Ezequiel Duran takes over. He's got a 150 wRC+, a .444 ISO that ranks top 6% in MLB, and a 50% hard hit rate. He has 1 HR, 2 RBIs, with an .889 OPS in just 9 PAs. He's already shown he can play 2B, 3B, and give you power off any spot in the order.
That opens a utility bench spot. Down on the farm at Round Rock, three names stand out. Cameron Cauley, 23, is hitting .400/.538 with 2 steals in 3 games and put up 15 HRs and 28 SBs in Double-A last year. Justin Foscue is at 1.032 OPS through 4 games and hit .261/.341/.474 with 19 homers in 103 AAA games in 2025. And Jonah Bride is posting a .921 OPS and has a .423 OBP across multiple AAA stints.
I’d be open to any of the three but I would love to see Cauley get some big league playing time as a utility player. Who would you put on the bench if we send Jung down?
