Paola Monguilod Brun is hosted at Naicons Srl. Her main academic interests primarily revolve around the field of drug design and discovery. Paola’s project in #BREAKthrough is reassessing natural products for OM permeabilisation.

Meet our #DCs, Francesca Mosca is hosted at @CNRS. Her research project focuses on elucidation of Lpp L,D-transpeptidases structure to enable in silico design of inhibitors and design of an in vitro screening assay for new inhibitors.

#AMR especially in Gram Negative Bacteria, for instance E.coli poses a significant global health concern. With very few compounds that can penetrate the tough cell wall of the Gram Negatives, treatment options for bacterial infections are limited. #BREAKthrough #WAAW2023 #WAAW

My project focuses on designing and synthesizing antimicrobial "tool compounds" and validating their effectiveness through microbiology, in vitro tests, and computer tools to develop a set of promising compounds with unique mechanisms of action, which can help combat #AMR. #WAAW

#AMR is one of the biggest challenges facing modern medicine, with an estimated million deaths attributed to bacterial AMR. My goal is to synthesize a series of organic molecules which have antibacterial activity and try to contribute to the solution. #WAAW2023 #WAAW
