Concerns mount over Musa Khawula’s health in prison
Controversial blogger Musa Khawula’s health has sparked alarm among his supporters as he remains incarcerated at Sun City Prison.
Sources close to the 33-year-old social media personality told News24 report that Khawula is struggling with poor health, relying heavily on friends for essential supplies like food, toiletries, and medication to sustain him behind bars.
Khawula, known for his provocative online commentary, faces multiple charges, including crimen injuria, hate speech, violating the Cybercrimes Act, and a separate attempted murder case from 2021.
His legal battles have kept him detained since January 2025, with bail applications repeatedly denied or postponed due to ongoing investigations and new evidence.
A recent report highlighted his visibly frail appearance during a court appearance at Fochville Magistrate’s Court, a stark contrast to his once-vibrant persona.
In an effort to support Khawula, fans launched a "Free Musa" campaign, which included selling T-shirts to raise funds for his mounting legal fees.
However, the initiative has reportedly failed to meet its financial goals, leaving supporters unable to fully cover his needs.
Friends have stepped in, pooling resources to send food, hygiene products, and medication to ensure Khawula’s well-being report News24.
“He’s not the same Musa we knew,” a close associate told News24, describing him as tired and withdrawn.
The "Free Musa" movement gained traction on social media, with some fans praising Khawula’s unfiltered takes on celebrity culture, while others, including prominent figures like Lerato Kganyago and Cassper Nyovest, have criticized his actions, citing the harm caused by his defamatory posts.
A BackaBuddy crowdfunding campaign aimed at raising R50,000 for his legal fees has only collected less than R2,000, underscoring the challenges in rallying widespread support.
His supporters remain vocal, urging for better treatment and a fair trial for the embattled blogger.

Humanities somehow became worthless to men when black women started accessing education, the same way education became worthless to white people when black people started having access to education 😂😂😂😂🤷🏾♀️
