Let’s talk about what that actually means.
This is a network that’s wildly profitable, connected, and protected.
Scalise personally chose W. Gray Stream as King of the 2026 Washington Mardi Gras Ball.
Stream founded Gulf Coast Sequestration and is in line for up to $600M in federal DOE grants- for CCS projects. (Is any other landowner getting $600M?)
Stream Family Limited Partnership donated to HOPE IN ACTION PAC. HOPE IN ACTION PAC funded The Accountability Project.
The Accountability Project is run by Jason Hebert. Jason Hebert is Scalise’s own longtime political strategist. All of it on FEC.gov.
The treasurer of HOPE IN ACTION PAC publicly supported Letlow for Congress in 2021. This network was built a long time ago.
Now here’s the question nobody is asking.
Letlow sits on the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development — the subcommittee that controls federal DOE funding.
The same funding stream that could deliver $600 million to Gray Stream’s company.
Did she ever disclose that her fiancé lobbies for CCS at Jones Walker — the firm that testified against Louisiana landowners?
Did she ever recuse herself from anything touching CCS funding? We’d like to know.
Scalise gets a Senate ally who will never touch the 45Q tax credits funding the entire CCS industry.
Stream gets the $600M grants.
Hebert runs the attacks and strategizes his way to more power.
Letlow gets the Senate seat.
Louisiana landowners get the dumping ground, the pipelines, the land seizures, and the permanent liability.
What does Jeff Landry get?
This is not a coincidence. This is a network.

I know a lot of MAGA do not like her, but I believe Trump knows what he is doing either way it turns out, though i have a theory on what Trump's play here is, and looks like smart multi-step chess.
Letlow was already the best-positioned to maximize knocking Cassidy out (stronger head-to-heads, broader consolidation, Landry backing) even before the endorsement. She forces the runoff with either, buries the incumbent in 3rd, and sends the clear FAFO message to every Senate Republican: cross Trump or the base, and youre done.
The base grumblings (Cassidy in a dress) are actually a feature. They keep Fleming viable as the harder fighter and make any Trump switch in a runoff an easy lift with zero downside. Seat stays deep red either way.
If Trump flips to Fleming after tonight? It looks responsive, not flip-floppy. Rewards the guy who earned it while keeping maximum leverage.
Trump knows exactly what he's doing... Either one of them beating Cassidy equals a win. And if it's not the theory, then the strength of Trump's endorsement sends that message to the Senate swampers while also serving as a powerful guide rail for Letlow. Despite any pre-conceived notions or establishment agenda, it makes her far more easily brought to heel and more leverageable.
Let's see what happens.

Let’s talk about the Louisiana Senate Race
The election is this Saturday
It’s very possible that Bill Cassidy will miss the runoff. He impeached Trump, hates MAHA, and has a terrible voting record on everything
Then we have Julia Letlow. It’s very likely she makes the runoff. In a hypothetical runoff, she would easily defeat Cassidy. Polling has shown a more competitive race between her and Fleming. That is because everyone wants to defeat Cassidy but would be more willing to vote for Fleaming because he is more Conservative.
Both Cassidy and Fleming have attacked her for her previous support for DEI Policies
I think she would be an upgrade over Cassidy but she will be more establishment than one of the few Conservatives in the U.S. Senate.
Next, we move to John Fleming. The question is does he make the runoff? He worked for the Trump Administration and was a founder of the House Freedom Caucus. He would be an American First Conservative with a fantastic voting record. He would easily defeat Cassidy in a runoff. Against Letlow would be interesting.
Apparently, Trump didn’t know Fleming was running.
P.S. It's strange to have a primary on Saturday.
