Do people REALLY believe a man got nailed to some wood and came back to life. Like for real, legitimately actually believe that crap happened???

@yubidad @xan_desanctis Yes, but pretty soon. There will be some kind of ear receiver in the player's ear. And he'll be told to swing or not.

@xan_desanctis Tech doesn't optimize "everything." The only thing about the plays that is "optimized" is the accuracy of the calls: it's still pitching against batting, none of that has been changed or optimized.

I get why people want ABS, and I’m likely in the minority here, but I much preferred the experience of watching baseball before the replay/challenge era, human error notwithstanding. Using tech to optimize everything is boring.
Rob Friedman@PitchingNinja

Umpire incompetence or a Rulebook/ABS Mismatch issue? 🤔 This pitch may have been both: -a Strike according the rulebook strike zone (3 dimensional/starting at the front of the plate), and -a Ball, according to ABS (2 dimensional/measured at the middle of the plate).

@BaseballWRLD_ If the ABS system is going to be ued, then there also needs to be something done for check swings, tags at a base, clearer definition of fielding errors, safe or out throws at 1st.Bottom line, every part of game needs to be microscoped. That way, everyone will be happy.

I’ll never understand why there are people who think pitches this close shouldn’t be overturned by ABS The ball is touching the zone. It’s a strike. The player should be rewarded for challenging a pitch that close and being correct.

@RaphealDavis3 Drop yourself back to high school. Could you have handled a shot clock, Not knowing what you know now. If a kid /team have the fundamentals down, then a shot clock would be no problem. good Lord, half the kids on the team can't shoot a lay up or make a free throw uncontested.

This is NOT basketball. Indiana High School Basketball needs a shot clock in the worst way. Stuff like this doesn’t prepare guys for the next level. Can’t understand how people continue to defend stuff like this. It’s bad for the game.
Dominic Miranda@DomMirandaTV

In the 4A State Title game, Crown Point held the ball for a minute plus…. With 5 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter. No movement… as deafening boos came down from this Gainbridge Fieldhouse crowd. Indiana needs a shot clock and it needs it now.

@Jon_Andrews You are spot on, especially at the high school level. The abilities and talents are almost equal. Yes, probably maybe 1% of an area has an exceptional player. But go play defense, go. Pressure the ball and good things will happen. I'll pass on the shot clock.

@Schultz975 The cats have figured out Purdue. forced their game outside of the 3 point shot. And they can't even get the ball back inside. This is going to be a runaway train via Arizona here in the last 5 minutes.

@GinaMuscato I think you are spot on. We have become so microscopic in sports that we want everything analyzed from the sweat Drop on a player's face to whether or not the ball Actually hit a certain part of the field. Sometimes it's just best to play the game.

Unpopular opinion: I understand some ball/strike calls are egregious & the ability to challenge makes sense…but baseball isn’t meant to be so precise that you rely on a box. Grey area around the plate is part of the gm. Otherwise it’s just not baseball. Idk. I’ve mixed feelings.

@JTTheBrick you can start the BLAME GAME with sports betting - Vegas wants action late to attract & keep the crowds - Networks want as many eyes on games at ALL times - & putting the 3rd & 4th round games in prime time gives networks chances to charge more - no mystery here, money rules!

I’m also a night owl and games going this late are just bad for everyone back east, especially kids. The games have so many commercials to begin with and they are scared to start these games earlier out west. Terrible programming.
Warren Sharp@SharpFootball

I rarely would say anything about this cause I'm personally a night owl... but... it's after 11:30pm on the east coast one Sweet Sixteen game is at halftime the other has 11 game minutes left no east coast kids get to watch the end of these great games, why make it like this

@TriciaWhitaker more about the LACK of preparation than anything else. yes, baseball fans will survive, but like always, turn off the remote and try to take in a game in person - that is the real baseball experience! sorry for the long reply

Say it louder for the people in the back. Die hard fans: you are having a knee jerk reaction. It’ll get better. And it will only benefit the game you love.
Andrew Sampson@andrew__sampson

@TriciaWhitaker There are things that Netflix could do better....but getting games on nationally is always a good thing for the game. The NFL has been doing this for years....baseball fans just tend to grumpy old curmudgeons that hate change. Baseball is growing and that is a good thing.

@TriciaWhitaker there has to be some concern or should be from sports to make sure the fan isn't pumping out $$ for just a game or two when places like MLB ought to be offering regional type packages for those fans. Lastly just because you can broadcast a game does require more than sitting 6..

@LenBermanSports @Reds I totally agree. I understand other teams want to get involved. And have their own special day. I have thought if the Reds game could go first pitch at like 107, and then other teams could follow with their first pitch at like a minute after that would be really cool.
