Part two of my interview with @bseshadri in his channel @ThamizhAlai_ on the ongoing hearing by the 9 Judge Bench of Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. We continue who started the trouble in Sabarimala and how Kerala and Tamil Nadu women and Hindu women across India stood by tradition. How the agitations in Keralam spread like wildfire What did Kerala High Court say in 1991? All these covered!

Rahul Gandhi "reveals" that the secret lies in the number 16. He terms PM's speech as insipid, energy-less. Says he will soon reveal what this "16" is all about.

so is it just a matter of .. 2 seats .. >> the key is not the issue (ie delimitation neet gst etc) >> but the discourse "என்ன ஒய் ! உங்களவா ஒப்பாரி வெச்சுண்டு இருக்கா போல .." This would sound absurd. I know..

Most of the confusion is caused by lack of clarity in reporting. Even now (pre-amendment), the maximum allowable seats are 550, while actual seats are 543. This is like authorised capital and allotted capital. Authorised maximum in the amendment is 850, while the immediate increase will only go upto 815. 815 is ROUND(543*1.5,0)

@angry_birdu mundam...that distortion comes from one LS seat UTs which can only become 2 LS seats and not 1.5 seats, and rounding up decimals. dhaddhi mundams all of you top to bottom.

The total number of seats is increased from 543 to 850. This is not a 50% increase, but a 56.54% increase. If we increase Tamil Nadu's 39 seats by 56.54%, we must get 61 seats. Not 59 seats as most calculations show.

In the history of Meipporul Nayanar in the Periya Puranam, Sekkizhar uses the expression “Thaththaa Namar”, a phrase that powerfully captures the very essence of the episode. As the narrative tells us, Muthanathan comes in the guise of a devotee of Shiva in order to assassinate Meipporul Nayanar, and succeeds in carrying out his treacherous plan. When Thaththan, the Nayanar’s loyal bodyguard, rushes to avenge this cowardly act by killing Muthanathan, Meipporul Nayanar stops him with these memorable words, meaning, “He is one among us.” In saying so, he recognises Muthanathan, at least by appearance, as a devotee of Shiva and refuses to let violence be done to him. What is striking is that Sekkizhar’s phrasing appears to have been inspired by an inscription from the Thanjavur Rajarajeswaram temple. Poikai Kizhan, an official of Rajaraja Chola, commissioned several vigrahas, including that of Meipporul Nayanar, and in the inscription itself explicitly refers to this celebrated act with the words “Thaththaa Namare Kaan.” This is a remarkable example of the close and living relationship between inscriptional evidence and literary tradition in that age. #StoryInStones

In today's hearing by the 9 Judge Conbstitutional Bench of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India - Senior Advocate Dr. Abishek Manu Sighvi @DrAMSinghvi argued the entire day. His arguments as usual were of exemplary order - His arguments on non-applicability of the legal fiction "Constitutional Morality" in matters of religious faith and beliefs were brilliant. However, in my humble opinion his observations on Article 16(5) and the Seshammal Judgment were erroneous. Still further, it appeared that he deliberately kept away from the Hindi Text of the Constitution of India by which every Sampradaya would be recognized as a Denomination. He was, to me, obviously SHY of calling Sabarimala Temple a denominational temple - A truth that would solve many problems - probably in deference to his client - the Travancore Devaswom Board - which is controlled by Commies in power, for many years now.
