Thinking about the narrative that the Commanders have not done enough to help Jayden Daniels: I would have loved to have gotten Jayden Daniels a proven, star Z-receiver too. A big guy on the outside. But he's got a $32 M man on one side and he'll have a top-75 pick the team loves on the other. They think he's a perfect fit who will help a bunch. They also signed one of the top TEs on the market, traded for and gave record money to a left tackle, drafted a right tackle in the first round and completely upgraded their defense. They've also completed changed their scheme and are now going to, correctly, run the offense that makes life easier on the QB and elevates outside weaponry. Have they directly given him an elite weapon on the outside? No. But they have indirectly helped him a ton. I disagree with the notion they haven't done a good job insulating him. Not everything is about WR, and again they have a $32 M receiver and a rookie they're jacked up about so it's not like they're trotting out dudes from the St. Louis Battlehawks. Improving on defense is a great way to help a young QB. Less will be asked of him if they get some short field and are asked to score less. That's another way to help him.

If you “don’t think the Commanders did enough to help Jayden”…what would you have wanted them to do? …draft Tyson over Styles? … trade next year’s picks to move up? …over pay for Pierce?
