@AmericanTorah @DaMadMattster Ecclesia is the Greek rendering of Kahal Assembly
English

"Church" is a poor translation of "ecclesia", which just means gathering. All of Israel (see Romans 11 and Ephesians 2) is The Ecclesia and every gathering of the faithful is *an* ecclesia. I don't think there is such a thing as "Peter's ecclesia" or "Paul's ecclesia" apart from the sense that there was probably one group of people they gathered with more than others at any given time in their ministries.
There has never been such a thing as "salvation by works". Certainly some people have taught that there is, but it never existed in reality. Every person who ever lived gained eternal life by faith in God's grace to forgive and to provide a way to clear the guilt (i.e. justify) of his sins, or they didn't gain eternal life at all. Jesus is that Way, even for those who lived before the cross.
There is one overall Ecclesia (the Commonwealth of Israel), one Messiah and King (who is the one Way to the Father and eternal life), one God (YHWH), and one Law.
English

And the apostles and elders came together for to consider of this matter.
Acts 15:6 KJV
The "apostles and elders" were not necessarily the same people, although there was certainly some overlap. James and Peter were both apostles and elders. There were other men there who would probably have been considered elders, not apostles. All of these men together were acting as the new Sanhedrin.

Don't lie... how old are y'all turning in 2026?
Me: 52

51 in December! 😱😭🤣
English

@RoCa74394915 @bezalelplace @hardymaxxing @risaruart That seems to be the crux of the issue, RC. Because I do not think marriage is a partnership, whether complementarian or egalitarian. The Bible shows patriarchy. The man is the head, as Christ is the head. The wife serves the man, as the church serves Christ.
English

@BSomers800 @bezalelplace @hardymaxxing @risaruart You are capable of making a sandwich, for crying out loud.
Do you actually sit on your butt while she's making you a sandwich?
Marriage and parenthood is a partnership, not a catering service.
English

Children are dependent on parents to feed, clothe and keep them safe.
Their needs always take precedence over a husband's. He is an adult. He can take care of himself.
Brian Somers@BSomers800
@godlywomanhood First and foremost, a wife is her husband's helpmeet. He is and must always be her #1 priority. The children are a priority, certainly, but after her husband. Because if she puts her children over her husband, she puts her marriage and family at risk of divorce.
English

@bezalelplace @risaruart @RoCa74394915 @hardymaxxing Chuckling, that's coming from someone named Cristy Fox whose handle is bezalelplace. Hmm, nice choice of handle there now that I think about it. Did Bezalel's wife make him a sandwich while he was working on the components of the Tabernacle?
English

@BSomers800 @risaruart @RoCa74394915 @hardymaxxing I’ll not waste any time taking advice about my husband from a completely anonymous account on x.
You could be a shellfish, after all.
🤷🏻♀️
English

@bezalelplace @RoCa74394915 @hardymaxxing @risaruart Ok ... let's rephrase my question. What do wives do on their breaks?
English

@BSomers800 @RoCa74394915 @hardymaxxing @risaruart This isn’t about me.
Do you want to make it about you?
English

@bezalelplace @risaruart @RoCa74394915 @hardymaxxing That's between you and your husband. :) If he's fine with what you are doing, well and good. But don't assume he's always fine...
English

@BSomers800 @risaruart @RoCa74394915 @hardymaxxing You seem to be making huge flawed leaps.
Couldn’t be more wrong.
My husband doesn’t need me to prove I respect him by working myself into dust and discouragement rather than make his own sandwich.
English

@RoCa74394915 @bezalelplace @hardymaxxing @risaruart But is anyone affirming the need to respect one's husband? That's not what I'm seeing. What I'm seeing throughout this whole debate is that wife/mother is saying to husband, "I'm busy with the kids, go make your own sandwich".
English

@BSomers800 @bezalelplace @hardymaxxing @risaruart No one is suggesting that you neglect your spouse. This conversation is about who to prioritize in terms of needs in a household.
You don't even think you should be making your own sandwiches.
A husband can take care of himself.
Younger children cannot.
English

@bezalelplace @RoCa74394915 @hardymaxxing @risaruart Glad you said "too". What do you do with your breaks?
English

@BSomers800 @RoCa74394915 @hardymaxxing @risaruart And men have breaks in their days too.
They don’t need to act like another infant.
English

@bezalelplace @BSomers800 @RoCa74394915 @hardymaxxing Life basic skills are needed especially if sickness happens to the mother
English

@bezalelplace @risaruart @RoCa74394915 @hardymaxxing If you want to see it that way ... I can't stop you. But you seem to think that it's one-way street: the husband to the wife. You ladies (assuming that's who are debating with me) seem to discount respecting your husbands.
English

@BSomers800 @risaruart @RoCa74394915 @hardymaxxing Oh brother.
And also, this a good example of talking out both sides your face.
“Rest! Now! First make me a sammich!”
English

@bezalelplace @RoCa74394915 @hardymaxxing @risaruart Yes it's hard freaking work! And another reason why wives and mothers should be stay-at-home moms. There are breaks during naps, school, and when the kids are out playing. There are also breaks when the in-laws stop by to visit with the grandkids.
English

@BSomers800 @RoCa74394915 @hardymaxxing @risaruart So then, she should be allowed to rest. Tending children in healthy ways that foster their development &growth while regulating her own emotions is HARD freaking work!
A grown up man should value that &make his own meal. It’s called living with his wife in an understanding way.
English

@RoCa74394915 @bezalelplace @hardymaxxing @risaruart Do you think the husband does not have his own duties? Doesn't the wife have her own duties?
English

@BSomers800 @bezalelplace @hardymaxxing @risaruart So I take it if you're home and the baby is napping then you pick up a vacuum or a mop and maybe let your wife have a bit of a break or maybe work on household chores together?
Or is she on call 24/7?
English

@risaruart @bezalelplace @RoCa74394915 @hardymaxxing Very true! and that is why a wise husband will step in when she needs rest. It's like a supervisor stepping in to tell his subordinate whose working her tail off to take a break or go home.
English

@BSomers800 @bezalelplace @RoCa74394915 @hardymaxxing Women needs rest. Especially if she has to take care of a newborn after birth.
English

@RoCa74394915 @bezalelplace @hardymaxxing @risaruart Of course I do, and frequently have. But, here's the thing, if the wife's exclusive focus is on the children until the last one is out of the nest, what happens then between husband and wife? Do they not risk becoming strangers?
English

@BSomers800 @bezalelplace @hardymaxxing @risaruart Do you not know how to make your own sandwich? Why not make your own while she's tending to her and your children?
English
