Ronaldo made his first Portugal appearance in 2003. Then he qualified them for 6 consecutive World Cups Prior to that, they qualified in 2002 and left in the group stage. Before 2002, their last and only appearances were in 1986 and 1966. Portugal was qualifying for World Cup" una.

This is why many Muslims lose their Islam when they travel abroad to non Muslim countries. 1. Everything you see is in one way or the other against your Deen. Alcohol, drugs, sex and naked women, etc. These are normal in the so called civilised societies. It’s literally in your face every single day and night. With time, if you don’t stay steadfast, you’ll begin to smoke, drink, and engage in many of these acts unconsciously. 2. Where there’s no thriving Muslim community, you are literally on your own. No one will remind you or wake you up for fajr, there are no Muslim events you can attend, in fact there are no avenues for you to learn the Deen if you want to. The ones you may find, they may not speak your language. Imagine when in summer you have to pray fajr at 2am, and pray Ishaa at 10:30pm. 3. You will begin to delay your salat 🧎‍♂️: The possibility that you’ll be caught in work, busy schedules and other distractions is high. You’ll begin to pray fajr at 8am when the sun is up, you’ll begin to combine zuhr and asr, magrib and Ishaa because of your shifts, and ultimately you begin to skip some and sleep without offering Magrib or Ishaa. 4. Praying in a mosque will become a luxury. You only get to pray in a masjid on Fridays. It may be a year and you don’t remember praying salat in Jammat outside of Ramadan and Friday prayers. It may be because there’s no mosque in your city. Or there’s a mosque that you need to travel 2 hours to. 5. You may fall for the “let me blend in” trap. You are Muslim first. Be a good neighbor, be a good citizen, respect the laws of the country. But you don’t need to blend in where it goes against your teachings. Don’t try to prove you are better than the other Muslims. This is how you normalize haram and end up losing your Deen completely. 6. I’m a victim of this misfortune. I’m advising myself and you, stay strong and pray for guidance. May Allah ease your affairs and grant you discipline and comfort as you navigate your way in the world. Salaam 🤲🏿

Let me make a necessary clarification for those intentionally missing the point of my previous tweet: where did I say I am using "Northern Islam" to judge anyone? If you know me well on this space, you know I have always maintained that the Prophet (peace be upon him) taught us that no tribe is superior to another except in piety. Islam is one. What binds us is our faith in the Almighty and your tribe plays no role there. My post was a direct reaction to Man of Letters (this quoted post) cheering a video and claiming: "something powerful must have been invoked on this day" — as a response to a lady who asked why the President’s enemies are confused. To Man of Letters and others like him, this invocation is (or one of) the reason his enemies are confused. So I asked a simple, logical question: what exactly was invoked here, and by whom? Wasiu, the person chanting the Ayajo, is supposed to be a Muslim. Tinubu, the person receiving it, is supposed to be a Muslim. When it is politically convenient, you people scream "Muslim-Muslim ticket" to rally support. Yet, when the conservative North points out the massive compromises and openly says this isn't the type of Islam they want to associate with, you catch feelings. They said it, not me. I am only pointing out the blatant hypocrisy. And if you have claims of Northern Muslims engaging in incantations, bring them, I will openly condemn it. It has nothing to do with tribe, but all to do with Islam. It’s Truth over Tribe for me. Is chanting Ayajo now acceptable for a Muslim because he is Yoruba? Should we celebrate traditional incantations that cross directly into Shirk just because of "Yoruba culture,” If you like, abuse me more, invoking ancestral spells has absolutely no place in Islam, and it makes one question their Islam whether the North says it or not. Allah knows best.
Man of Letters.@Letter_to_Jack

Something powerful must have been invoked on this day. Tell your Yoruba friend to interpret the lyrics to you.

@BTAkinjide @YusufAsunmogejo What has your Shigidi (Allah) done for you? He has mouth but can’t talk, has eyes but can’t see. He even has hands and can’t do nothing with ‘em and that’s why you have to fight for him and commit atrocities in his name cos he’s basically useless! To hell with you and Mohammad!😂

𝗜 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗱 𝗝𝘂𝗺𝘂’𝗮𝗵 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘆𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝗾𝘂𝗲, 𝗜𝗸𝗼𝘆𝗶 𝗟𝗮𝗴𝗼𝘀. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝗵𝘂𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗵 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻! Alhamdulillahi nahmaduhu wa nasta’eenuhu wa nastaghfiruhu, wa na’udhu billahi min shururi anfusina wa min sayyi’ati a’malina. Man yahdihillahu fala mudhilla lah, wa man yudhlil fala hadiya lah. Dear brothers and sisters in Islam, today I remind myself and you about a teaching central to our faith: the honor and dignity of women. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said, “Istawsu bin-nisa’i khayran”—treat women with kindness. He also said, “The best among you is he who is best to his wife, and I am the best among you to my wives” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim). And he warned us, “Ittaqullah fin nisa”—fear Allah in your treatment of women. These are not merely polite suggestions; they are ethical imperatives, measuring the character and piety of every believer. Allah the Exalted reminds us in the Quran, in Surah An-Nisa (4:1): “O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from a single soul and created from it its mate, and dispersed from both of them many men and women.” This verse establishes the equal origin and inherent dignity of men and women. Surah Al-Ahzab (33:35) further confirms that both men and women share responsibility in faith, righteousness, patience, prayer, and charity. Women are not inferior in the sight of Allah—they are equal partners in spiritual and moral accountability. Contrast this with the pre-Islamic period of jahiliyya, when women were treated as property, denied inheritance, and even buried alive. The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, abolished these injustices. He secured women’s rights to consent in marriage, inheritance, and respectful treatment. Today, some claim to “liberate” women, but observe how they do it—they encourage exposure, reduce her to a commodity, and glorify sexual objectification. In Islam, true honor is not in display, but in dignity and protection. A woman who covers herself and preserves her modesty carries respect that no fleeting trend can grant. The Prophet’s advice, “Treat women with kindness,” is a timeless call to elevate women with respect, care, and righteousness. Brothers and sisters, our responsibility is clear. Honoring women is practical, not abstract. It manifests in fairness, compassion, and protection in the home, workplace, and society. Fear Allah in your interactions with women, and align your conduct with His guidance. By doing so, you uphold the moral and ethical fabric of society. Islam does not merely “liberate” women—it dignifies, protects, and honors them. Let us commit ourselves to this divine instruction, ensuring that our deeds reflect the Quranic vision of equality, respect, and honor for all women. Khutbah Conclusion: Akhirun kalam, astaghfirullaha li wa lakum, fa astaghfiruhu innahu huwa al-Ghafur ar-Rahim.

@mickytob78 @YusufAsunmogejo I am a defender of Yoruba from miscreants spewing rubbish and distorting history to favour their narratives about Muslims selling Yoruba to the Fulanis. A large number of Muslims fought to defend Oshogbo from the Ilorin invasion. Some of our people also fought on the Fulani side

@mickytob78 @YusufAsunmogejo I hate it when people think Northern Muslims are more Muslims and try to downgrade us here. I can tell from what I have witnessed it experienced that Islam is practiced deeply with affectionate more than the north. I have a lot of them at my place of work.

These are some of the prominent victims of General Sani Abacha between 1993 till 1998. The killings and attacks were allegedly done by the 'Strike Force' or 'BGs', under Maj. Hamza El Mustapha. 1. Chief M.K.O. Abiola – Imprisoned, then killed in detention in 1998 2. General Shehu Musa Yar'Adua: Imprisoned and died in 1997 after being given a lethal injection 3. Kudirat Abiola: The wife of Chief M.K.O. Abiola, shot and killed in Lagos in 1996 4. Ken Saro-Wiwa and Ogoni Nine (Saturday Dobee, Nordu Eawo, Daniel Gbooko, Paul Levera, Felix Nuate, Baribor Bera, Barinem Kiobel & John Kpuinen), executed by hanging in 1995 5. Chief Alfred Rewane: A prominent financier of NADECO, murdered in his home in Lagos in 1995 6. Rear Admiral Babatunde Elegbede: Shot and killed in Lagos in 1994 7. Admiral Emmanuel Olu Omotehinwa: Shot and killed in his home in 1996 8. Chief (Mrs) Bisoye Tejuoso: Murdered in Abeokuta in 1996 9. Alhaja Suliat Adedeji: Killed at her residence in Ibadan in 1996 10. Toyin Onagoruwa: Lawyer & son of sacked Minister of Justice, Dr Olu Onagoruwa, killed in 1996 11. Dr Sola Omatsola: Head of Security; killed in a bomb blast at Murtala Muhammad Airport in 1997 12. Tunde Oladepo: Bureau Chief of The Guardian in Ogun State, shot at home in 1998 13. General Oladipo Diya: Targeted with bomb blast; later imprisoned 14. Alex Ibru (publisher of The Guardian): Shot in the eye in 1996 15. Chief Abraham Adesanya: Relied on 'Yoruba Science' & somehow survived a drive-by shooting in 1997. Is this the man you are claiming will be remembered as more democratic and more respectful of human rights than NADECO activists? It is okay to disagree with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's politics but to try to rewrite our history is really unfortunate.
Peter Obi@PeterObi

Yesterday defenders of democracy, today's destroyers, What a shame. What an irony of history, that the acclaimed defenders of democracy and human rights who claimed to have fought for democracy during the era of General Sani Abacha now find themselves worse than the man they opposed. Today, General Sani Abacha, once presumed face of oppression, will be remembered as seemingly more democratic and more respectful of human rights than the so-called champions of activism from the NADECO days. Power indeed reveals character. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO
