@BritishHodl How does the person generate a 1% monthly income? Are you talking about using margin for living expenses to avoid any selling?
English

Let's do a maths exercise, we'll keep it simple for the Hillbilly #Bitcoin-ers.
Let's say there are two people:
Person A: $1M 100% Self Custody Bitcoin.
Person B: $1M 100% ETF Bitcoin.
Let's say the goal here is to preserve as much Bitcoin as possible for the lifetime of ownership.
We also agree that this person is American and does not want to hand over their citizenship for "freedom" and assume that they will die in America and live there for the majority of their life.
Person A must sell a portion of their self custody Bitcoin every month to pay for living expenses of $10,000 a month and things that show up.
Person B utilises the financial services built on ETF's to generate a 1% income monthly on their $1m of Bitcoin to live on.
Assuming a fixed value of $1m of Bitcoin (for the purpose of the discussion - it's unrealistic as Bitcoin will appreciate).
At the end of 20 years.
Person A will have: MINUS $1.4m of Bitcoin.
Person B will have: $1M of Bitcoin.
Now, the good news is Person A will probably have a significant Dollar value of Bitcoin as the price appreciates.
But person B will have 100% of their starting Bitcoin and will be able to live off it, for free.
Who's children do you think will be happier when they pass it on?
When you factor for $10,000 monthly withdrawals at a 30% CAGR.
Person A with Self Custody with $10,000 monthly withdrawals would have a total final value of: $105.4m.
Person B with ETF generating income with no withdrawals would have a total final value of: $190m.
That's an $85M difference.
Don't be stupid or emotional.
It should be a sliding scale, run bag, vs wealth bag.
BRITISH HODL ❤️🔥🐂❤️🔥@BritishHodl
Self Custody #Bitcoin will be "Hillbilly #Bitcoin" for the next 25 years. Anyone who wants to maintain the most amount of Bitcoin for their progeny WILL use the financial services available on the ETF's as it just makes the most sense. In my opinion, the incentives for holding the ETF's will completely outweigh benefits of Self Custody for most people with sizeable capital in the world. ETF's will control 10%-15% of #Bitcoin supply by 2028. You'll self custody the "run bag" amount of #Bitcoin you need in-case shit goes south. That's it.

@dotkrueger This is very bullish. They will become buyers just later and much higher .. once the inevitability is clearer … this is the ethos of trillions of dollars that will be the late adopters in future cycles

Statement by an Plymouth Rock in 1905:
"As a prudent and conservative insurance company, we must exercise caution in our investment decisions. While the automobile industry may seem promising to some, we believe it carries significant risks that outweigh potential benefits.
Firstly, the automobile is still a relatively new invention, and its long-term viability remains uncertain. The industry is characterized by rapid technological advancements and evolving consumer preferences, making it difficult to predict future market trends accurately.
Secondly, the safety concerns surrounding automobiles are undeniable. Accidents and fatalities involving automobiles are on the rise, raising serious questions about the reliability and safety of these vehicles. This poses a substantial risk to our investment portfolio, as increased claims and liabilities could erode our financial stability.
Furthermore, the infrastructure necessary to support widespread automobile usage, such as roads and fueling stations, is lacking in many areas. The development of such infrastructure requires substantial investment and time, further complicating the outlook for the automobile industry.
In light of these considerations, we believe it is prudent to refrain from investing heavily in the automobile industry at this time. Instead, we will focus on more established and stable sectors that offer greater predictability and lower risk to our shareholders and policyholders."

James Stone, founder of Plymouth Rock Insurance company on Bitcoin.
"What are your thoughts is converting a small percentage of our assets into Bitcoin as a long term capital allocation strategy" ?
"I'll take that one. Our returns have exceeded the market by a good bit. We've done very will with the strategy that we have, and we like it. We're fundamental investors. We look for businesses that do well, have a good reputation and have a good product. Bitcoin's almost the opposite. It's not our zone at all. It's speculative. It's not backed up by the fundamentals of a product"
"It's almost the opposite of the kind of thing we would ever invest in"

There’s never been a commodity that is completely inelastic.
No matter price, the amount that gets produced is entirely & precisely static.
This is new to humanity.
Your models are dogshit.
Price could be $300k by the end of this sentence.
