177,000 signatures. Referendum triggered. October 19th. If Alberta separated, its GDP per capita would rank among the top 5 nations on earth. Higher than Denmark. Higher than Germany. Higher than the UK. Higher than Canada itself $353 billion economy. 5 million people. No sales tax. Largest oil reserves in the western hemisphere outside Venezuela. And Ottawa’s response to this province for a decade has been: block the pipelines, raise the carbon tax, and say thank you for the equalization cheques. This is the consequence.

The Iranians waited literally for about twenty minutes before the start of Passover, coinciding with the start of the special holiday meal. This is a time when Israeli cities typically experience heavy traffic as residents gather in designated areas. At precisely this time, Iran launched a large number of missiles toward Israel, preventing many Israelis from reaching shelters in time. Reports indicate that cluster munitions were used, which could increase the number of casualties compared to usual. Initial data suggests a high level of intelligence coordination in the timing of the strike.

And even for the parks, the concept of “ownership” is muddy. The feds have legislative power and administrate them, but they are not federal enclaves outside of Alberta. Alberta laws, when not in conflict with federal laws, apply within them. If the feds remove the national park status they revert to Alberta’s control automatically.

Israel in Canada
Israel in Canada@IsraelinCanada·
Israel, as a sovereign state, legislates its own laws. Canada is intervening in the midst of a sovereign state’s legislative process. Israel is facing murderous and brutal terrorism on a scale unmatched anywhere in the world. Palestinian terrorism is fueled by payments from the Palestinian Authority, as well as by abductions that lead to shortened prison terms for terrorists. Israeli law already permits capital punishment, and under the proposed new law, discretion over its application will remain with the courts. Canadian double standards: Canada repeatedly singles out Israel - we haven’t seen a tweet like about this when it comes to capital punishment in the United States, Japan, India, Egypt, or other countries.

Canada joins its partners in expressing concern about the death penalty law passed by the Israeli Knesset that, in practice, systematically targets Palestinians.

@MatrixMysteries Philosophy was the best subject I ever studied. Improves your perspective, executive recruiter and lawyers, and ethicists. If you actually understand philosophy is the key to understanding organizational behaviour. Consider a technical degree if you are more applied.

Go ahead and separate, and you'll be paying for the following with those "less taxes"... - You won't be receiving the $12.6 billion in federal transfers that do go to Alberta each year. This amount offsets "equalization". - You'll be responsible for Alberta's share of the National debt, you don't get to charge the credit cards and then run away. That's $75 billion as a low-cost estimate. It could be as high as $100 billion. - CPP, yeah right, your share ain't as big as you think. Your forgetting about Canadians and "foreign" workers, who did work in Alberta, but don't all live there. You don't get to keep it, not unless they all agree. But there's no mechanism to ask them. - Replacing Federal Programs with your own - You don't get to stop the obligations, now you got more. - Your own immigration system will end your low unemployment reign. Your forgetting, your now a new country that needs a whole new immigration system, while all the immigrants who came to "Canada" to work, will need to work in other provinces until you approve them. - International recognition - It ain't pretty or automatic, Your in for a real treat here. Wait until all those countries are smacking their lips at your oil. You need your own Army now. - Old Age Security - You didn't plan for that. CPP isn't high enough. Your seniors didn't all strike Oil, and you have 650,000+ of them to support. Now you need to create your own system to offset the low income seniors get. Border Services, Customs and Foreign Affairs at the border about to heat up. You need all of that quick and fast before Trump wants to make you the 51st state. Landlocked - Duties for Imports and Exports are also applicable to Canadian Products going to BC and SASK (vice versa) and from the USA. Your going to have to pay to track all the logistics of people being in your Country. The fees, fines, courts and all that will be needed to deter "abuse" of your import/export system. Then you got the following losses: Your no longer part of the Canada Community-Building Fund, that means local/municipal infrastructure projects like roads, bridges, public transit, water/wastewater systems, active transportation and community facilities could be jeopardized. Alberta receives $276 million in strategic investments across 19 categories in communities province wide. Since 2015, Alberta has received over $3 billion from this program. Your now responsible for that AND you need to negotiate all the recovery from the property you need to buy from the federal government. Natural Infrastructure Fund - Ecological restoration, water system improvements, green roofs, native habitat planting, and conservation tied to climate resilience. Clean Technology and Carbon Capture Projects - Scaling clean energy hubs, hydrogen development, carbon capture/utilization/storage (CCUS) innovations, and energy transition centers. Federal innovation grants and clean tech accelerators stop. Projects like hydrogen hubs or CCUS demos (often tied to federal tax credits or direct funding) could stall, slowing Alberta's energy transition and diversification efforts. Your oil won't last forever if it's your main export. Bilateral Health Agreements and Targeted Health Infrastructure - What it funds: Aging-in-place initiatives, home/community care, mental health facilities, recovery communities, and health infrastructure top-ups (beyond base Canada Health Transfer). Federal health infrastructure funds would stop (e.g., new $5 billion national Health Infrastructure Fund starting 2026–27) could support hospital/urgent care expansions, with Alberta eligible for portions via cost-matching. This would not be possible, and would end up costing Alberta Billions to replace. Landlocked Corporations will flee - Incorporation and tax jurisdiction: Many large firms are federally incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act. In separation, they'd likely re-incorporate in Canada or move to another province.

Albertans aren't Canadian patriots anymore. They're Alberta patriots. Zero federal income tax CPP/UI cut in half 33-38% take-home pay increase 45% total tax reduction Why wouldn't you vote for that? stayfreealberta.com/how-and-where-… #Ableg

@JeffreyRWRath Did you ever consider, Canada and Alberta don't get to decide who owns the land. Documents exist, they are called treaties. The UN is prepared to handle this, as it's contract law, and clear Canada (and Canadians) don't own the land. Consider the conversation down the road.

I don't hate Canada, I hate what Ottawa has done to it Yet, it's our people who allow them to do so. The problem with Canada is now Canadians. Independence is about giving the east their way of life, while preserving ours.

@JeffreyRWRath So basically, if I move to Alberta, I can immediately act like I own the province, and demand independence from Canada? NO so called "canadian" actually owns any of the land, you own the governments permission to use it. The Natives own the land.

Alberta has a brilliant future ahead as soon as we cut loose from the rotting corpse of Canada. Canada's a dying communist country. We need to get away from it. No federal income tax. No GST. No Ottawa shutting down our oil industry. Vote for independence. #Ableg

Lebanon and Palestine stole land that was not theirs. Israel is Jesus future millennial kingdom and he says in the Bible that he’s judging them. YOU WILL NOT STOP the nation of Israel from being. You would have better luck lassoing a tornado 🌪️ saying yippie and holding said wind storm in place. That will happen first. Bible below ⬇️

Reminder that @avilewis, leader of the Federal NDP, believes antisemitism is just a "narrative" forced by the "Israel lobby" and that Jews are "cartoonish narcissists," "perpetrators," "supremacists" and "crybullies" who "urgently" must be made uncomfortable.

Why haven't the evil zionists of Israel made incursions into Jordan? Oh yeah. Because Jordan hasn't allowed itself to be used as a staging spot to attack Israel. Rockets aren't coming into Israel from Jordan & Israel leaves Jordan alone. Amazing how that works.

@s3n10el @EmekaCryptoNG @TukiFromKL Thank you! This is much more accurate. As an Arab (Sunni), none of our leaders have done a single thing for the people. They are propped. No good from these vultures. With bases gone, they will answer to the people. With no bases perhaps the political prisons will close.

Yeah, I think the simple fact this “ friend who works in Gulf diplomacy” a “smart guy” with “20 years in the region, “ is portraying the situation as though Iran is exclusively targeting other Arab countries instead of Israel- when they are targeting both, more heavily Israel, while simultaneously failing to mention how in both Bahrain and Iraq, Iran taking out US military basis/infrastructure has led to uprising against the current regime in power there- pretty much disqualifies, his opinion from being considered meaningful or holding any significance whatsoever With that said, I actually believe this is a made up story altogether because of how obviously inaccurate it is, but even if it’s not - you, the guy who shared it with you, and his “friend” need to find a way to cope harder

An Indigenous Albertan just said this straight up: Her people are living in poverty. The leaders speaking for them don’t even live on the reserves. There’s no accountability. And she says corruption is part of the problem. That’s why she supports Alberta independence. This is a perspective you’re not hearing. 👇 Full interview: youtu.be/sxSiebccQLM Thank you @Kdrocks11 for sharing your story.

NOBODY IS TALKING ABOUT THE REAL STORY HERE Yes, Iran attacked US troops. Yes, 1,270 soldiers from the 82nd Airborne were targeted. Yes, Kuwaiti hospitals are in emergency mode. But here's the part everyone is missing: Iran didn't attack a US base. Iran attacked KUWAITI SOIL. Kuwait is a sovereign nation. Kuwait hosted American troops as guests. Iran just bombed a country that wasn't even fighting. Think about what that means. Every Gulf state — UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia — is now watching. They all have US troops. They all just saw what happens to countries that host Americans. Iran is sending a message to every US ally in the region: "Your alliance with America makes you a target." And Kuwait's response? They declared a hospital emergency. Not war. Not retaliation. Just emergency rooms. If Iran can bomb a US ally with no military response from that ally... Then every US base in the Gulf is now exposed. Because the host countries are too scared to fight back. That's what nobody is saying out loud. Iran didn't just attack American troops today. Iran just broke the entire Gulf security alliance.
