Supreme Court stayed any tree felling around the KBR park eco sensitive zone (25 to 35 meters) for construction of flyover.
The matter was argued by Sr. Counsel K. Vivek Reddy. Assisted by Mithun Shashank.
Order passed Justice Nagarathna & Justice Ujjal Bhuyan
Development works under SRDP will come to a halt now.
English

N Reddy came fully prepared for the PP side.
But Pappu Nageshwar Rao came completely out of syllabus yesterday in the High Court.
What arguments. What intensity. What clarity.
Whatever people may say at times about flaws in the system, moments like these remind us why the Indian judiciary still deserves immense respect.
Courts remain the biggest hope.

@mat30185 @politicalbaaba Lol. I honestly don't care who wins UP. Anyway wallow in your own hate and adhominem attack. Enjoy. I wish you well.
English

@BVPRAJU @politicalbaaba Issue remains when crude prices crashed, excise duties were still high and the Centre collected lakhs of crores from fuel taxes But when crude rises, the burden is immediately passed to consumers. Try better to justify bhakt , also don't start crying next year when UP is lost
English

Petrol prices have been increased by Rs. 3 per litre amid rising global prices due to the Iran war.
Many people including me have criticised the govt. for not passing on the decline in crude oil prices in the past to end consumers but instead jacking up the excise duty. While passing on the brunt to consumers when global crude oil prices increase.
In May 2014, when PM Modi assumed power, Indian crude oil basket averaged $106.85 per barrel, with the exchange rate at approximately 58.5 {to the US Dollar}). In May prices in Mumbai were approx. Rs. 72 per litre. Rupee cost per barrel = Rs. 6250
In May 2026 (till date), Indian crude oil basket averaged $104.68 per barrel, with the exchange rate at approximately 95 {to the US Dollar}). Petrol price after hike is approx. Rs. 107 per litre in Mumbai. Rupee cost per barrel = Rs. 9945
Rupee cost per barrel has increased by 60%. Factoring in the change in crude prices and exchange rates, petrol price in Mumbai should have been Rs. 115, Rs. 8 higher than currently.
Petrol prices in Mumbai are lower by Rs. 8 per litre given crude & currency movements.
India imported 88.4% of its requirements in FY25-26. ONGC the national oil producer does not offer any discount to indian refiners / oil marketing companies and sell it at international market prices.
English

@mat30185 @politicalbaaba Since you are not part of a bhakt mandali Acheck for Capex Spending difference, as a % age of GDP, the math of additional collection will be clear. A straight jump from 1.7% of GDP in 2014 to 3.4% of GDP in 2025.
English

@mat30185 @politicalbaaba The point was about off budget hiding of liabilities but I can see you skirted that issue.
English

@anishgawande They should have just reissued the oil bonds that they paid off during low prices, isn't it?
English

The problem isn’t that the government has increased fuel prices today. It is that the BJP has made fuel prices a football for electoral gains.
From freezing prices for 137 days when crude was $115 to refusing to pass on relief when crude was $75–80 a barrel, the government has gleefully pocketed taxes (₹38.89 lakh crore since 2014) and let oil companies post record profits (₹81,000 crore in FY24 alone).
All while lying to the people of India that there is no crisis and that fuel prices will not increase in the near future. Governance is not a PR stunt. The sooner this government realises this, the better.
English

@mat30185 @politicalbaaba Alternatively just pass on to the future with oil bonds, so that a few years later someone else can answer why despite low crude prices price was not reduced. Oops this did happen already.
English

@politicalbaaba Sir that's the problem when prices are low the benefit isn't passed on to consumers but when prices increase the burden is indeed shifted to consumers that's not a good sign, they are breaking the back of aam aadmi @politicalbaaba

Have some fun at the cost of my unnamed friend.

It isnt surprising that NEET exam has been cancelled by the @NTA_Exams . The hub of this entire operation is Sikar, where the success rate is 6X of national average. A similar thing happened in 2024 too, but the allegations were brushed under the carpet. Had we dealt with it in 2024 with an iron hand, this wouldnt have repeated.
What we know is that 140 of the 180 questions in NEET were part of a guess paper of 410 questions. What is alarming is that the order of the questions and the options were exactly the same.
The modus operandi is simple. In Sikar, the students are called in for a Mock test, a day before the actual exam and made to prepare for each of the questions in the guess paper. The students had 140 of the 180 questions preepared, thus guaranteed 600 of the 720 marks even before they entered the exam hall.
Time to go after the paper leakers. Jail them. 23 Lac students and families will pay the price of the brushing under the carpet we did in 2024. @careers360

A Qs for those living outside Tamil Nadu: would any other major state welcome as chief minister in today’s India someone whose full name is Chandrasekaran Joseph Vijay . What TN has shown today, may India do tomorrow: respect our unique multi-religious, multi-cultural diversity and give everyone a fair shot at their dreams. ⭐️👍

Google just got a DISCOM licence for its Vizag data centre hub.
Read that again. Google. Got an electricity distribution licence. In India.
For the first time, a tech giant is not just a customer of the grid. It is a regulated utility. The same legal authority that lets Tata Power sell electricity to a Mumbai apartment now lets Google supply its own data centre.
This is not a story about cheap power. This is a story about who controls infrastructure. Vizag is going to host hyperscale AI workloads — single buildings drawing more electricity than entire small towns. The traditional DISCOM model assumed customers and utilities were separate. AI workloads broke that assumption.
Also note who quietly approved this: Andhra Pradesh. The state betting hardest on data centre investment is also the one rewriting the regulatory book.
The next time someone tells you data centres are 'just servers,' remind them they now come with their own utility licence.
