On this Good Friday, I’m taking a moment to reflect on the themes of sacrifice, compassion, and hope that continue to guide so many in our community. It’s a day that invites quiet gratitude — for the people who lift us up, the grace we receive even when we fall short, and the renewal that follows difficult seasons.
May today bring peace to those observing, comfort to those carrying burdens, and a sense of light as we move toward Easter.
Wishing everyone a meaningful Good Friday

Wishing a joyful and meaningful #Passover to everyone celebrating across our city and throughout Washington State.
As families and communities gather tonight, may this season of reflection and renewal bring peace, resilience, and a renewed sense of hope.
Passover’s themes of freedom, perseverance, and faith continue to inspire — especially in challenging times.
Chag Pesach Sameach to all who observe. ✡️

No heads will roll, no political careers are threatened, from the King County grants scandal. Politics is in a stage where having a government that works is an afterthought, writes columnist Danny Westneat. ebx.sh/yIaCJQ

Although it’s heartbreaking to see what’s happening in our own backyard, I appreciate @KING5Seattle for bringing this story to light.
How have we reached a point where some feel entitled to harass, intimidate, and try to destroy someone’s livelihood simply because of their heritage or where they were born? That is not activism. This is antisemitism — plain and simple. And the silence around it is alarming.
We can debate politics all day, but targeting individuals or businesses because of their identity crosses a moral line our community should never allow. If we truly believe in equality, compassion, and human rights, then those values must apply to everyone — without exception.
It’s time for us to live up to the ideals we claim to stand for, not just when it’s comfortable, but when it actually counts.

As WA continues to plummet in rankings due to bad management and greedy progressive policies, Gov Ferguson continues to raise our taxes.
Fraud and waste are ignored. Employers leave as more homeless arrive. This is not what the citizens want.

From @WSJopinion: A secret to the Evergreen State’s success has been that it has no income tax. But Democrats in Olympia are perilously close to enacting a “millionaire tax” of 9.9%, write Arthur Laffer and Stephen Moore.

The Washington state constitution bars an income tax and voters have repeatedly rejected it, but what’s a little parchment and democratic consent when there are political interests to pay off?

You've got about 48 hours to try and save WA. Every call and every email MATTERS.
They absolutely won't hold a public hearing again and give us a chance to overwhelm them with CON sign-ins. It's your last chance to make noise that matters.

Today, on #InternationalWomensDay, let's stand with the courageous women of Iran.
For decades, they have faced repression, imprisonment, and violence simply for demanding the most basic human rights. Many have paid with their lives. Their bravery continues to inspire people around the world.
Until every woman in Iran is free, let's honor their courage — and may their memories fuel a movement that cannot be silenced.

Today's commentary: Spending in Washington doubled in 10 years. Schools got worse. Homelessness got worse. Overdoses tripled. Traffic got worse. Housing got worse. Yet Olympia keeps saying 'trust us, this time it’ll work.'

As Washington’s debate over a state income tax continues, I agree with the Seattle Times editorial on its key point: voters deserve a clear, straightforward yes‑or‑no question.
However, we can’t ignore the history. Over the past century, Washingtonians have been asked about an income tax 11 times. Ten times they voted no, and the one time they voted yes - in 1932 - the state Supreme Court struck it down as unconstitutional the following year. That’s nearly 100 years of consistent voter sentiment.
What’s more, the feedback lawmakers have received this session - through sign‑ins, testimony, and public comment - aligns with that same long‑standing position. The public is saying today what they’ve been saying for decades.
So it’s fair to ask: why are we being asked to revisit this yet again? And it’s also fair to ask whether this renewed push is being driven by ideology rather than by the will of the people. At some point, respecting voters means listening to what they’ve already made abundantly clear.

Today is the first day of Women’s History Month, a moment to celebrate the countless women who bring talent, creativity, and heart to everything they do. I’m grateful for the mentors, colleagues, friends, and family members who lead by example and make the world a better place.
This month is a meaningful reminder to recognize both the major milestones and the everyday moments of strength that often go unnoticed. It’s also a time to celebrate the women who inspire us, support us, and show us what’s possible.
Happy Women’s History Month, and thank you for the impact you make—big and small.
