I love how the outsiders who don't really follow the #Seahawks are lecturing us about the team being sold and relocated like they are "the experts." We knew this was going to happen for years, the team being sold. We just didn't know the ETA of it. This is not a Supersonics situation, and we will not be relocated. Clay Bennett was a dirty businessman who won a legal battle and broke the lease at Key Arena and, as part of the settlement, he would pay $45M to exit the lease and $30M if no replacement team was established within 5 years. The team was supposed to stay but got jacked away. The Seattle Seahawks have a stronger fan base than the Supersonics did, sadly. The Seahawks also have a better owner, Jody Allen. She knows that the team heart is in Seattle, and she isn't freaking Clay Bennett, who moved the Supersonics for greed. The team will not be moved because of taxes, that just a dumb narrative. Outsiders also said that the "dramatic and therefore deeply Seattle sports thing to do." Again, we knew that the team was being sold, we just didn't know the day, month and year it was going to happen. If anyone paid attention, it was in Paul Allen's will and the team was going to honor that no matter what. I have no idea why people are misinterpreting, spreading misinformation and lying to you guys, but remember to always find information yourself if need be.
