H.E. Mamadi Doumbouya, President of the Republic of Guinea, has arrived in Rwanda to participate in the Africa CEO Forum, taking place in Kigali from 14–15 May.

Imanizabayo is among four athletes representing Rwanda at the African Athletics Championship in Ghana. Others include Florence Niyonkuru (Women’s 10,000m), Magnifique Mutesiwase (Women’s 200m) and Honorine Iribagiza (Women’s 800m)

The President emphasised that the current term should be regarded as a “kisanja of no more sleep,” urging citizens to prioritise hard work and active participation in wealth creation initiatives aimed at accelerating socio-economic transformation across Uganda. He noted that significant progress has been achieved under government programmes, including the Parish Development Model and Operation Wealth Creation, which have contributed to increasing the proportion of homesteads engaged in the money economy. According to the President, approximately 67% of households are now participating in the money economy, while efforts are being intensified to integrate the remaining 33% into formal economic activity through inclusive development programmes. He further reaffirmed government commitment to infrastructure development, regional integration, and expansion of markets through frameworks such as the East African Community and the African Continental Free Trade Area, as key drivers of sustainable growth. President Museveni also underscored the importance of peace, stability, and unity, noting that Uganda’s progress since 1986 has been anchored on rejecting sectarianism and promoting national cohesion. He thanked regional partners, including the Republic of Tanzania and the Republic of Kenya, for their continued cooperation in advancing regional stability and economic integration. The President reaffirmed government’s commitment to ensuring that every Ugandan benefits from development programmes, stressing that no citizen should be left behind in the journey towards prosperity. #M7SwearsIn2026

Today on the 11th May 2026, the Minister of Agriculture Hon @T_Ndabamenye received in his office @vunifaustin1 the Coordinator of Rwanda Climate Change and Development Network @RccdnRwanda with whom they discussed ways of promoting Regenerative Agriculture and Productive Use of Renewable Energy for enhancing food production and productivity, increasing household income as well as creating green jobs. They also discussed on agroecology, conservation agriculture as well as other sustainable agriculture practices. They agreed on practical actions that would jointly be worked on for the benefit of the most vulnerable smallholder farmers including enhancing their level of participation and ownership. #RA_PURE #P4FP
