This release was a bit of an ordeal. You may have heard in some tech news that Microsoft had suspended a bunch of driver developers. This included WinFsp as well. Luckily Microsoft reinstated my account today and I was able to produce this release.

WinFsp 2026 Beta1 has been released: github.com/winfsp/winfsp/… It includes an important fix to a vulnerability (CVE-2026-3006) discovered by Tay Kiat Loong. I recommend everyone upgrade to this WinFsp version as the vulnerability will shortly become public.

Are you aware that the Microsoft Partner Center now uses AU10TIX as your "trusted ID verification vendor"? This is a company that has been involved in multiple controversies and hacks. It is also not US-based. eff.org/deeplinks/2024… @satyanadella

WinFsp 2025 has been released. This is primarily a bugfix release resolving some issues with latest versions of Windows 11 and some third party antivirus filters. I recommend that people install this release to get those fixes. github.com/winfsp/winfsp/…

@docsmsft How does one report doc bugs or requests? It used to be possible via GitHub. I want doc for IoGetCopyInformationExtension for use by file system drivers (not filters). It is the underlying DDI for FltGetCopyInformationFromCallbackData which has docs but is for filters.
