"I told my friends, family, and I told my peers, my teachers, I said, 'I'm gonna do a split on stage. When I did it, everyone was shocked," she said. Campbell says she initially thought there had been a mistake when she reached for her diploma and didn't receive it. "I tried to reach for my diploma, and I didn't get it. I was confused at first. I thought they mixed up my name," she explained. She later claims school officials informed her that her diploma was being withheld and told her she needed to find a way to make up for her actions. According to Campbell, administrators felt she turned what was supposed to be a celebratory moment into something centered on herself.
