@internetanton Things have to be done to stop teams slowing game and time wasting - but demands will get pushed further than players currently capable of if you do it with the types of measures the article says.

If this happens, in accordance with other changes we’ve seen across premier league, EFL etc, Allsvenskan clubs need to start building large squads because injury’s are about to go through the roof

@internetanton Huge problem. Bigger problems though than the ones in the article are goalkeepers at goal kick - has to be a time limit. Stopping teams taking quick free kicks by moving ball etc. Strict rules supposed to be in now to stop this but after 2 games stopped being enforced

@odenaren Ball in play times/game times/ work done already gone up dramatically in other leagues this season. None of those rules yet in Allsvenskan.
Add in more strings and work done i games will go up way too much for players to deal with. Will be looking at maybe 15% increases in volume

@ScienceInSoccer Small sample size of 1 game but we found that the added time in addition to multi ball for first time, resulted in volume load increasing by average of 18% across the team. Intensity 6% increase and volume 11.5 % increase

Keep seeing comments on this new added time rule change. It’s maybe not as drastic as everyone is making out.
An average PL game is 98 mins. A change to 105 mins is a 7% increase.
Average EPT is 54 mins. This could increase to 58 mins. Meaning only an extra 4min EPT per game.

@statsports Yesterday we had team totals of 119k distance, 11200 HSR, 28300 HML. Things are changing that’s for sure and how teams can handle the demands will determine a lot this year.
