It took Pep until the 22nd of March to figure out the best way of playing for his team. By that time, City were already knocked out of the Champions League by an Mbappé-less Madrid. This idea that coaches ALWAYS get it right is nonsense. Less eyes on City. Less pressure. But the broader point centres around Arteta. He is the reason Arsenal are in this position in the first place. He is the reason Arsenal got their highest ever points tally in Premier League history. The reason Arsenal are competing for major titles every season. The reason Arsenal are in the Champions League semi-final for two consecutive seasons. Even though, when he arrived, the club were physically, technically, culturally, and psychologically inept. Be grateful for what you have. And the fact that you are competing in the first place. With a club that has the fourth of fifth biggest wage bill in the league. With a club that plays by the rules. With a club that says 'no' when their coach or director wants a player for several seasons because of financial limitations. With a club that hasn't won the Premier League since 2004. Or a Champions League in their history. Imagine if Arsenal lose the league on goal difference and lose the Champions League final. Should Arteta be sacked? That's what people are discussing. Despite what I've said above. Arteta is one of the best coaches in the world. In fact, he is the most complete in the world. GOOD LUCK replacing him. Similar to when Klopp left Liverpool. The foundations are so special that the next manager may succeed in the short-term, but all the best maintaining what he built over a long period of time. The only way that is possible is by replacing him with another one of the best managers in the world. Wake up. Some people don't know what reality is, even if it slaps them in the face.

Getting smashed by all the big teams in the late Wenger era was painful. But now knowing your team is good but cannot get over the line, is a different level of pain. Life of an Arsenal fan is just misery.

Our performance was substantially better than that against Bournemouth. Yes, on balance City were the better team so, fair play to them. But let’s not overlook two shots off the post and a missed sitter from Kai. We mustn’t be hoodwinked by the Sky Commentary team or be fooled by TalkSport. 1. We are not a well coached team. We lose the second ball a lot and always still jittery in important games despite 7 years of Mikel Arteta as a manager. 2. Arsenal should compensate Bayer Leverkusen and cancel the permanent deal they want to make for Hincapie. 3. Gabriel is a huge disappointment. Khusanov is just 22 years old. Guehi came in from Crystal Palace in January and both are more composed than you today. 4. Odegaard doesn’t offer nothing as captain and AM 5. Havertz is a useless striker and even more useless midfielder. Cut your losses and sell off. 6. Sell Madueke this summer before his value tank entirely. He’s useless and will never improve. 6. Mosquera is not a RB. Play him at CB or don’t play him at all. 7. We still don’t have a defensive midfielder. Cherki, Bernardo Silva and co just strolling through our midfield. 8. Martinelli and Trossard came in to do nothing. Nothing always! 8. Bring in Luis Enrique if we don’t win the league or UCL. Awful night!

@clockending I see fatigue in this team. Havertz is just poor, lucky sometimes, but very poor. We need some players back asavp!! Massive upgrade in recruitment in the summer.

Today was always going to be tough, against a quality team and after a midweek game while they have rested. Timing is everything. I feel bad for the sane Arsenal fans who are going to have to deal with the usual plastic moaners for the next week. The title is far from over, having been here before, we need to pick ourselves up and dust ourselves down. #Arsenal
