@XBusiness @X It’s been fun,@twitter but you’re now too broken and I don’t need to read ostrich philosophers any more. The rebrand is awful. Goodbye

Over the past few days, we've taken action to keep making Twitter a great place for everyone. And we want you to know why 👇

@nick_tweeets @arnau1700 @AngieLynch09 @GaryLineker Very naive. Your information appears to be at least a decade out of date.
English

@carolvorders Twitter is dying. He’s turning it into ‘Truth Social’. No idea why he didn’t just buy that instead.
English

@ManMadeMoon @rianjohnson I’m probably going to delete the app today. One last tour of the people I’ll miss.
English

@X I’m very sorry but I really don’t like the new logo: looks like a frightening fascist organisation. It’s also poorly designed, dated and ugly. Please offer the option to keep the actual Twitter logo.
English

I think they've finally gone insane.
Rt Hon Sir Grant Shapps@grantshapps
Today we are saying no to @JustStop_Oil and their political wing the Labour Party We will power ahead with new oil and gas because it’s in the best interests of the British people, of our economy and of our national security
English

@MichaelRosenYes They hung on in Uxbridge, but if the Green vote had gone to Labour ( please note @Keir_Starmer ) they would have lost. I’m fairly sure that the Green vote was pro-ULEZ
English

@SkyNews You need to amend this headline: it needs to be clearer that the government are saying it will have these effects when, in reality, it won’t. Certainly not in any discernible way for the vast majority of people in the UK.
English

BREAKING: The government has announced hundreds of new oil and gas licenses will be granted in the UK to boost British energy independence and grow the economy

@Keir_Starmer Let’s make sure to keep firm on ULEZ and such initiatives then, please. More green public transport, more cycling and walking.
English

My Labour government will make Britain a clean energy superpower.
To lower bills, create good jobs, and ensure energy security.
Labour is ambitious for our country.
The Tories can’t hide 13 years of failure with sticking plasters and warm words.

@carolvorders @andrewrawnsley By quite some distance. And that’s saying something.
English

Is this parliament the worst ever?
Asks @andrewrawnsley
I’m going with a YES
What do YOU think ?
Yes or no?

@DeborahMeaden My thought as well. I felt he thought he was telling a hilarious joke, leading his audience to assume his son was coming out. Or about to tell him he was a talentless chancer…
English

@ZacGoldsmith I don’t know, maybe he’s seen someone who lost his seat in an election being elevated to the HoL and figured the people he leads are a bunch of grifters.
English

@leeinthelakes Looks like a fascist organisation. When it changes, I think I will have to finally accept I need to delete this app
English

@peterwalker99 Drivers are also people, though, surely? Don’t they mean ‘appeal to the selfish’? That’s the only thing the Tories have left.
English

New: after ordering a review of low-traffic schemes, ministers are also looking at whether they can limit councils’ powers to impose 20mph limits and install bus gates, we’re told. All part of Sunak’s push for the drivers’ vote.

@BBCNews Very good, but why Cambridge? It just helps to perpetuate the myth that it’s superior as opossums to being better funded. Plenty of much better Universities in terms of teaching. However, if you want a way in to the establishment, it does make a lot of sense.

@DustbinFilm @SDG803 @76nottory @ClimateHuman I just block them: to a man and woman, the paid ticks are not worth the reading time.

Prof. Rahmstorf is too polite to say it, so I will. Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck. Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck. This is terrifying, folks. Everything is happening much faster than we thought

Here's a thread in pictures about the Atlantic overturning circulation #AMOC which is making headlines this week. I've studied this topic since 1991 and will show key data and models & some video. Let's go: observed temperature trend since 1901 from nature.com/articles/nclim… 🧵1/x

@lanabanana2000 @TLRailUK I’m not sure you’re thinking that through. An overtime ban ( there are no strikes that day) is when workers just work their contracted hours. They choose to do overtime because it pays, yes. But a good employer pays their staff enough for contracted hours. And has more staff.
English

It’s with a heavy heart we announce we're unable to run trains to/from Brighton on Sat 5 August. An overtime ban's in place so we can't run our enhanced Pride service safely. We’re bitterly disappointed to make this decision as long-time Pride supporters.

@BBCNews It would be ‘pro-car’ to ensure that we had plentiful and affordable public transport because then it might be more likely that all of the fantasy ‘only car on the road’ ads might represent some kind of reality. Why is car pollution any different to smoking?
