Our organization works with scout groups, and when we go to meetings where there are a lot of Indian scouts, I always look at the parents during opening ceremonies - the vast majority do not say the pledge along with the scouts. They sit, don't stand, and completely ignore it. Very disturbing.

Update (2/23) 5:27 PM local time The airport curfew was lifted around 10 AM this morning. Once our resort confirmed it, we searched everywhere for tickets. We tried booking directly with several airlines, we got all the way to payment multiple times only to be blocked at checkout. In hindsight, that was likely a sign some of those flights were going to be canceled. At one point, I was seriously considering chartering a private plane and splurging if we had to, however after many attempts, we secured seats on a flight. We informed the resort, and it turns out our family was the first to leave our resort. They had confirmation from other resorts that the route to the airport was safe. We took a calculated gamble, knowing we could turn back if United didn’t land or was rerouted. On the drive to the airport, the highways were empty, we saw multiple burned cars and buses. Google Maps was surprisingly precise in warning about upcoming objects on the road, so we distracted the kids from looking out. As we approached the airport, Mexican police and military were everywhere. It’s clear they’ve established control and the situation appears stabilized. Most gas stations in the city are closed, with long lines stretching down the roads at those that remain open. The airport was chaotic — many passengers trying to leave on standby. Security lines were long. Duty-free stores were closed, but food vendors were open (expect long waits there too). Airline update: American Airlines appeared extremely cautious today — I don’t believe any AA aircraft landed in PVR. United operated flights and has been outstanding. I’ve heard American may not resume inbound service until Thursday, but that’s unconfirmed. My family and I are now back in U.S. airspace. To everyone here on X who prayed for us — thank you.
