Jeffrey Rath was on Power and Politics tonight... full hit "If you do IT under section 1 of the Referendum act, there's no ability whatsoever for the court to get involved because even Justice Leonard agrees at that point. The Supreme Court of Canada and the secession reference says the courts have no role to play and no jurisdiction because it's a purely political issue." And after all the accusations of separatists being foreign funded, Rath points out that the fist nations are being foreign funded "And I'm sure that the first nations, because they're being funded by the Tides foundation and funded by George Soros and funded by foreign money, will fight every single step of the way because they have billionaires backing them." @JeffreyRWRath

@rhondaforoshawa It's "freedom of expression" in Canada, not free speech you MAGA addled twat. And, it has deliberate restrictions. Hate speech is not exercising freedom of expression.

WOW. A Liberal MP used his committee time to pressure Meta officials to “curate” and control what Canadians can say online. I used mine to defend free speech. Canadians do not need politicians policing their free speech online. 🇨🇦

Alberta will be ungovernable soon if this keeps up. No treaty rights were infringed upon. This was an unlawful decision. You do not need to consult with First Nations on a citizen led initiative. New episode uploading now with @echipiuk

@Saskgirl3252 @cbcwatcher @MarcNixon24 There's no guarantee that the court permits the appeal. There must be a concrete example of misapplication of the law, not just hurt feelings, vague conspiracies and tantrums... which is all I've heard from Rath so far.

@Saskgirl3252 @cbcwatcher @MarcNixon24 I agree, citizens should have access to petition, but those who launch the petition must adhere to the laws and regulations that govern the process, regardless of how onerous it is.

@BackstageInfamy @cbcwatcher @MarcNixon24 Sure the guy is a little abrasive but with 35 years of experience in the law, he probably knows statue better than Cochrane or you for that matter. @gator_gum There was never any such thing as QAnon. That is a figment of the far left media's imagination. Simply inventing a word doesn't make something real. There is Q. And there are Anons. There is NO "QAnon". But if you wanna believe far-left conspiracy theories...

@Saskgirl3252 @cbcwatcher @MarcNixon24 Being wrong, LOUDLY, is not "schooling" someone. Tossing out baseless conspiracies and denigrating judges isnt "a work of art", its desperation and proof that youve got no legal ground to stand on. Rath had a public tantrum, and you think its masterful debate. No wonder you lost.

@Velvet_Calamity @AlbertansFirst @cbcwatcher Nobody is in fear of you fuckheads. You aren't special or threatening, rather the opposite in fact... pathetic and unserious. No one is against you having a vote, AFTER you've done things the correct way. You fucks are incapable of obeying the law, however.

Though, It makes you think. Can you trust the Judiciary to be honest and do so in full knowledge of the law. It would seem, the judiciary willfully or purposely, or otherwise - omitted some very important details, in its ruling. Why? The suppression of facts and truth in the face of fear. The Canadian government will do anything to prevent Alberta separation. By allowing the referendum to happen and in the event of failure, Let's say 45% yes, 55% no, Would give a bench mark for future attempt at separation.. The Canadian government can't afford or allow that. Right now, they are in a cautionary mode.. a failed separation vote, let's say of 45%, would put the Canadian government in a panic mode.

@Velvet_Calamity @TomjSmith2 @cbcwatcher Cute, now try that without AI. As a leader of the separatist movement, Rath is responsible for the conduct of those he speaks for, and there's hundreds of examples of that toothless rabble threatening a civil war.

That is treason in Canada. High Treason (Section 46(1)) Every one commits high treason who, in Canada: - Kills or attempts to kill Her Majesty (the Sovereign), or does her any bodily harm tending to death or destruction, maims or wounds her, or imprisons or restrains her. - Levies war against Canada or does any act preparatory thereto. - Assists an enemy at war with Canada, or any armed forces against whom Canadian Forces are engaged in hostilities (whether or not a formal state of war exists). Treason (Section 46(2)) Every one commits treason who, in Canada: - Uses force or violence for the purpose of overthrowing the government of Canada or a province. - Without lawful authority, communicates or makes available to an agent of a foreign state military or scientific information (or related documents) that they know or ought to know may be used prejudicially to Canada's safety or defence. - Conspires with any person to commit high treason or the above violent overthrow. - Forms an intention to commit high treason or violent overthrow and manifests that intention by an overt act. - Conspires with any person to do anything mentioned in the foreign disclosure paragraph or, while Canada is at war, does or conspires to do anything that assists an enemy of Canada or prejudices Canada's safety. Members of Alberta’s separatist leadership — including Jeffrey Rath (commonly referred to as Jeff Rath), legal counsel and prominent spokesperson for groups like the Alberta Prosperity Project (APP), Alberta Independence Petition Project, and Stay Free Alberta — do not fall under Canada’s treason laws (Criminal Code sections 46–48) in any fashion based on their documented activities. This includes their public advocacy for an independence referendum, petition drives (which recently gathered over 300,000 signatures but were quashed by a court in May 2026 over First Nations consultation issues, with an appeal planned), and meetings with U.S. officials.

@thesovereignceo @echipiuk Why does anyone need to consult FN on a vote? Alberta voted to kill transfer payments and nothing happened. Referendums are not binding. Actual separation will require numerous negotiations and alignment with the other provinces. Or it doesn’t happen.
