And I put "works" in quotes because it never really works, but if people want it bad enough they can make it work "for them" in a voluntary small group. This is what's known as a commune. And if you've ever been to a commune, they're full of the worst losers and assholes you can imagine.

Yes, communism only "works" when it's voluntary and in small enough groups (max about 50-100 people). This is why it doesn't work as a system of government, because most of the people don't want communism so at scale it REQUIRES authoritarianism. This is what they mean when every idiot college kid says "REAL COMMUNISM has never been tried. . ."

The only time socialism really worked was back when we were primitive hunter/gatherer societies and food was shared with your fellow tribesman to survive. Today, the only socialism that exists happily is between family, where resources are shared between members but even that’s got capitalism supporting it underneath. Socialism is a primitive idea at best, and today only works in a small-batch tribal settings if supported with income from a capitalist society.

This topic is where I usually depart from most on the right, I believe if you live with a single parent long enough, you should inherently adopt the role as parent. There is a worse psychological harm caused by bonding with a child for say, 5+ years and then divorcing that child because "She/He's not biologically yours" is something I would never tolerate. I agree with with the woman here.
